I've got the Captive Works 600 receiver.

It's very similar to the Viewsat Platinum in terms of speed (makes sense since it has the same processor & memory).

The firmware is out and about, but the only place I've found it is www.dsscentral.net

There are some minor software bugs in the Captive Works firmware, but I'm sure they'll be worked out eventually.

I'm not sure why you're comparing it to the Pansat. They're in two different price ranges. You can probably find a Captive Works for around $140-150 USD
