I was thinking about purchasing the Coolsat 5000 Platinum. I noticed there is a step-by-step guide for the 4000, but I don't see one for the 5000.

1. Is anyone here running this with Dish?
2. Is there a install guide/setup guide for getting it to work with Dish?

Any and all insights would be greatly appreciated.

from what i read everything is the same as far as set up , the only thing different is the bin , do not use the 4000 pro bin on the 5000

come to think of it , i posted a 5000 user manual a whil back in the fta coolsat area:)

Just wanted to provide an update, you follow the instructions EXACTLY as posted in the Coolsat 4000 guide, but you use a 5000 bin, NOT the 4000 bin. SKUNKER was right on the money!! I'm up and running with no problems :-)

there is a updated read me posted here somwhere in regard to use with the superbins , i think it was posted by OHG !!!
very good read and decribes in detail some of the settings to use with different lnb's as well as the new bin features

Do the 5000's come with a card reader or do I have to add one? Do they even need one?

CS5K doesn't come wit a card reader, that's an option.

As of right now (today's date) cardless is working flawlessly, no need card, but it's a nice "plan B" to have...just in case....:D
