I'm not familiar w/ Satmex 5, but yor current LNB is clearly c-band, and a 5' dish is awfully small for c-band. A KU band LNB is going to do alot better with a dish that size, but I don't know what KU band programming is on Satmex5.

i jused this dish with same original lnb on old analog receiver years ago and was getting several satellites ok.

Hope you mean quad lnb, quattro's are mostly used for distribution systems with more than 4 receivers such as apartment buildings, etc. Has 4 ouputs - 2 Linear (high & low) and 2 circular (high & low) outputs. If i remember correctly, when hooked to stb without a multiswitch of sort (not recommended), only one polarization with either high or low can be viewed at a time.
An universal quad on the other hand has four outputs, for four receivers.

i got the quatro but not tried it yet, the one i tried is the original lnbf (c band) that came withe the dish and old analog receiver long time ago. the quattro ku band lnb i still need to get the dish for it , i think this will be offset and not on the center like the old c band lnd , i have the spects of the c band lnb on my 1st post and i can still get only one channel on it (old c band lnbf)

finaly i got it to work, i had only 2 channels, cutted a tree that was on the way and now i got more and also the one i was looking for, this is with the big dish abd old c band lnb
i have a 33" dish with old ku band lnd, and i got sat 105 with lot of channels, i swapped the lnb ans places a quattro universal ku-lnb (supose to be 2-low and 2-high) and i don't get anything with it, (did not moved dish) placed pld ku-lnb back and works, does the brand new quatro lnb is defective?
