Just bought myself a Orasat, so far the programming is easy. I don't know about how much support there will be for this unit later, but I have a feeling that this unit will last for a long time. Picture and sound are decent. I will post more about this unit when more files come out for it.

I have a Orasat. It does program easy. I have some freezing. I did have a problem with the sound but dish setup fixed that. Now I tried to hook a vcr to record and found no matter what I do I cannot get get it to record. There is no wire digram in the user manual. I don't think the LOOP OUT iec 169-24 female connector has a output. It is the IF loop-through output from the digital tuner. I wrote tech support. No reply! This is the second time that I have wrote them about another problem. No reply that time either. Does anyone have any ideas on this problem since I cannot get tech support from orasat. Thanks

well i don't have a orasat but it shouldn't be to hard to hook up the vcr.
1st run the cable you would run to the tv from your fta to the vcr to the male connector that says cable/tv in
2nd run another cable from the other male connector that says out to the tv.
3rd make sure when you are tring to record that the tv/vcr is on and it on whatever channel you watch the vcr is on the tv.
hopefully i didn't confuse you even more

Not confused at all. I do know how to hook up a VCR. The lnb input connector works but the problem is the output connector is dead, no output, no signal, no workie. Thanks for your help anyway! I would not buy another orasat. Defective unit.

justmy, there is one thing i can tell, your are completely wrong. it does not matter what kind of stb you are using, the loop out does not work when connected to a vcr period. the loop out only works when you connected to another stb. after reading your post, i tried to connect it to vcr with rca( video audio cable), it recorded every thing i wanted from ppv to porn......tell me, have you enjoy the video quality, the epg orasat offers?????

even if the unit is defective, thats it, you boycott orasat? i believe youve hooked it up wrong, as is stated, loop out has nothing to do with what you want to do......
