I am trying to get my 301 ird running for the first time but having some problems.Firstly for some reason when it was working on the N1 system i recognise i did not have to do the vid mod but it works. However now i back up my tsop and eeprom, then attempt to erase the tsop it would not complete, then on writing the modified tsop it gave me an error. Now i setup the vid mod which i think would enable me to write to the tsop but when i enable the vid mod the receiver information is not displayed in jkeys and it kept giving me errors each time i open jkeys. The receiver power light does not comes on anymore and i can't do anything from jkeys it just gives erroe from ird. Does this mean my ird is dead? can anything be done?

Enable vidmod to flash tsop.
Disable vidmod after flashing is complete.

Most IRD's will not work with vidmod on after resetting power.

For peace of mide, you can write your backup tsop to return to a previous working state.

Exit jkeys, reboot computer if unable to get jkeys to detect ird. More than likely it will not detect the the IRD because you erased the tsop before flashing the new tsop and the IRD info is gone. You should be able to select you IRD and flash your backup tsop.

Well smiley i tried but no luck. I restart the computer and then open jkeys. Most of the information for the reciver is gone but i was able the select the correct model but it does not allow me edit the tsop whether am in the vid mod or not. When i select flash programming it gives an error "Error reading from DCUControl register" and it just will not allow any writing to the tsop. The power light is still not coming on. Is my ird dead?

Try loading up wall v2 and selecting your good bin. Then fire up jkeys. Worked for a 301.010 I had the problem with. Also worked for my 301.013 single tsop a while back. I ground r79 to the case then switch on vidmod then connect jtag and plug in receiver and fire up jkeys. My jtag connect is wired in and I have a wire coming out the back connected to r79 that I connect to the case.

You are right Argos996 i finally get to write to the tsop, i ground it from the bottom(pad 1) instead of the top from r79 and with the vid mod on its flash smoothly. However am still not getting anything on the tv screen after programming and inserting the atmega. The power led just lights up every few minutes and the remote can't get it on. I am using a modded tsop from this site. Anyone having this problem?
