Does anyone know if you can use the SD card to update channel listings on the 3500? I've searched this site and could not find any info on this.
The bin update via SD slot takes about 10 seconds. I can even backup the bin and the channel data to the SD - it saves it as a ***.bin file. The channel data is saved in a folder called "CH Data Backup" and it is 360,448 bytes in size, whereas the code bin is 786,432 and is saved in "Code Backup".
I can edit the channel data with Channel Master v1.7 build Nov 12, but I'm afraid to upload it to my 3500 because I don't know if it will harm the receiver.
I chose the 3500 because I don't have to lug it to a PC to get it updated via the com port. I could do it easily through the SD slot. Also, the SD card can be inserted and ejected while the unit is on with no ill effects.
Any help on this would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
