This is my first post and hopefully one that someone could help me out with. I am running a DG7000 with two seperate dish's (direct tv dual lnb's) with amps to help with my signal. I also am running with no problems from the same lnb's a VS 2000 P with amps aswell. I have since moved my DG receiver from one location to another only to have the signal disappear??? I have not touched my dish's in any way just moved my receiver? I have tried every file possible even back to the factory default (no go). Here is the strange part...I hooked up my DG lines to the VS and I cannot get a signal. What the heck am I doing wrong (I've done this many times) with no problem :( . Would someone have an idea of what is going wrong.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply Skunker. Yes I always turn off the STB before diconnecting or reconnecting the cable. I did try the old spot and it is still a no go? Maybe I am missing something, an oversite of some sort?

Thanks

where did you move the DG ? same dwelling ? and also you said you hooked up your viewsat to the dg line and no signal ? did you try hooking up the dg to the viewsat line ? from what your saying sounds like a 1.bad switch 2.bad connection somewhere or 3. interference somewhere near where your dg was hooked up

I moved it from the basement rec room to the main floor living room, I tried reconnecting one more time tonight and I am getting a very weak signal on certain transponders, nothing coming in on 110 even with a signal amp? What kind of interference are you speaking about. I also switched up my switch prior to this and then back with the same results. I tried looking through the forums for similar problems but I came up empty handed. Any help appreciated.

well the cable / stb worked before moving your stb rite ?
and now it doesen't ???i was thinking interference meaning that i have
read that microwaves and florecent light screws around with the box in some way, i've been looking for that post but have been unable to find it.
what i suggest is trying to use a dtv or dn ird to look for signal on 110/119
it sounds to me either satellite settings are messed up or dish moved just enough or you have a bad connection that is corroded

Well I finally figured out what my problem was!!! I was using screw on F connectors with no middle cores (the little inner tube within the F connector. As soon as I changed over to a crimp style F connector whamo I had a great picture and signal better than ever. Thanks Skunker for your help, hope this helps other people out.
