I have tweaked, combined and added some detail that may answer some questions for the first time FTA testers.

DO NOT run the Downloader from the zip file. Unzip the files to a folder, then proceed with the instructions below....

PLEASE.......Read the instructions first. Then Download the "UT Pansat 2700A only.zip" file at the bottom which contain both applications, or download the individule application depending on your needs.

Here we Go :

1). Turn your 2700 "OFF" via rear switch.
2). Connect the RS232C null modem cable to the receiver and Com1 port of your computer. (Use Com2 if not Com1 is not available).
3). Plug in the receiver, Turn your 2700 "ON" via the rear switch, and see that the “On” is indicated on the LED on the receiver.
4). Run the Downloader (GTRom Loader v3[1].35 [pansat2700A].exe) from the new created folder.
5. Click the App File only button, browser and select the “latest update” file,example X-87BL_050901_114_api then click the Open button.
6. Double check and make sure the cable is securely connected.
7. Click the Download button, wait until the “Download Completed!!” is displayed. Watch the LED on the receiver, it should reboot itself, wait until the “On” display.
8). Wait for unit to finish flash, DO NOT INTERUPT!
9). When receiver reboots and displays “On” You are done with the software update.

NOTE; The channel list provided is working5 by Wingnutt101 for LEGACY lnbs ONLY !!!
10). To load a channel list on your 2700, start & run the application Ch Editor187 (Pansat 2700A)
11). When Pansat Channel Editor 2700a appears, click file, open, select the channel list working5-legacy-2700
12). At the top of the screen click where it says “Tools” and goto “Connect to receiver’ Then click “Download”
13). Wait till finished and unit will reboot to channel 0001. Your Pansat 2700 is now flashed and a Legacy Dishnet channel list has been loaded.
14). Wait for unit to finish flash, DO NOT INTERUPT!
15). Turn your 2700 "OFF" via rear switch.
16). Unplug and disconnect receiver from PC


Connecting the receiver to the TV.
17). Connect all the RCA cable from the TV to the receiver, connect the R6 Cable from the dish to the IF input of the receiver. Plug in the power cord from the receiver to an AC outlet.
18). You should see the Language Menu on the TV screen, select English.

Satellite Setup.
Note : I removed the SW21 then I connected my Dish 500 Duel legacy LNB 119 cable to the LNB1 of the DISEqC, then I connected my LNB 110 cable to the LNB2 of the DISEqC switch. The FTAs are not compatible with SW21s.
19). Goto the Installation Option, enter “0000” for p*********word
20). Goto the Antenna setup Option,
21). Select satellite you want (birds Echo8.6/Ku at 110W and Echo7/Ku at 119W are the Dishnet birds), press the OK button. DO NOT select more then one satellite if you only have one satellite.
22). LNB Type: select “Standard”
23). LNB Local-Freq: enter “11250”
24). 22kHz: OFF
25). See above note: DiSeqC: 0, if you have two lnbs on the dish or two dish then change it to the correct lnb #1, #2, so on...
26). Skew: 45
27). TP: leave it as is
28). Check the Level= highest as you can, and Quality= highest as you can (adjust the dish slightly to improve the signal strength)
29). If you get no quality level on these transponders, try others before giving up. Not all transponders are transmitting all the time. MAKE SURE THE CABLE IS PLUGGED INTO THE "IF INPUT" PORT ON THE BACK OF THE RECEIVER! Plug the other end directly into the LNB on your Dish.
30). Readjust your dish if you still not getting any quality signal
31). Press the Exit button, press OK to save setting

Note: this step is not required if you used the working5-legacy-2700 in steps 10 through 16
Scanning for Channels(10 minutes)
32). Go back to the Installation Menu
33). Go to Satellite Scan, press OK, select the satellite to scan using the left or right vol button(it should turn RED). Press OK to start the scanning.

WATCH TV!


You can now go back to your channel list and delete all of the channels that are duplicate, and bad or scramble error. they are "Ghost Channels".

Hope this helps someone and save them from scratching their heads !

You don't have to post and asking question every 2 mintues, just give someone a chance to read you question, and reply.

To answer you question:

1. For Clock, there is nothing you can change, just have to wait for Pansat coder to fix the problem.

Form your remote control:

1. Press SAT
2. Selecting EchoStar Package. there will channel guide pop up on the lefthabd side, select any channel, then press OK.
3. Pree EPG, now you will have the channel guide same as the dishnet receiver.

I am using the pansat 2500 a and can not seem to get the file for the pansat 2700. I have been searching for the zip file and can not find it. If you can please refer me to a thread which had the file I really would appreciate and make life more easier.

Latino 18 When you go to time setting enter 4 zeros and this should unlock the time so you can change it. This has worked for me and I hope the same for you and anyone else that tries it. clsummerlin

1. Make sure you get the right serial cable(RS232C null modem cable)
2. Correct com port setting.
3. Receiver Power switch to ON from the rear, and Receiver power on with remote, when flash receiver.

Is there a difference between the RS 232 and the RS 232C. I believe I was using the RS 232 which came with the 2500. I wasn't aware that the same cable would not work for the 2700.?

If you are using the right cable, here is simple procedures:

1. Connect the serial cable from PC to pansat reciever.

2. Plug in receiver AC core to the power outlet, then turn on the power switch from the rear of receiver, then turn on the receiver with remote or from the front panel. Wait for the receiver to complete boot up, and displayed ON

3. Open up the Pansat loader program ( GTRom Loader v3[1].35 ), make sure the com port setting is set to com port #1.

4. select the Pansat 2700A bin file, then click down load, wait to the down load complete, and receiver reset, and display ON.

If you getting down load failure, go back to #3 change the com port to #2, then flash it again.

Is there a how-to jtag a Pansat 2700A? Where the cables should be connected (or solder) at each side? The software? I read a lot about FS Ultra, Pansat 2500 and 2300 but mine is a Pansat 2700A and there is little or no information about that.

Uuppss, my mistake. I'm sorry. Thanks for the advise.

Go to installation,press set up,press time setting,go to time zone,in my case I'm in eastern standar time so I'm minus 4:00,go to current time,military time that is,from 0- 24, dial your time and your on.Then exit as many times you need to.

What file would be suitable for the gtools application to download the channels into the pansat 2500A and be able to view tv.

I was told to use the gtrom loader 3.135 for the pansat 2700 and nothing was happening. I then started to use the 2500 2300 downloader and was able to download the flash and access parental controls. I ran into one problem the instructions for the pansat 2500 did not work. i believe the instructions were for the pansat 2700. I do not have the 2700, I have the 2500a. Also, I can not access the file to the channels in the gtools application, will I have to rezip the file again to access the file?

1. You have to clear up youself first, which receiver model do you have.
2. When you provide information, indetail or point form easy to understand.
3. Posting you question in the replace. This is how to set up pansat 2700, not 2500A.

The different beween 2500 & 2700 are the loader/upater and software. The receiver set up configuration are both the same. Here is 2500 how to guide http://forums.dsstester.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=30468 Aslo the dish up, some tester use dishpro or lagacy type lnd.

Are the above instructions for a brand new receiver which comes with factory bin loaded, and then we have to follow the above instructions to make it N@ ready.

Yep..and i am in the Southern states the only thing thats different with my setup voltage on the antenna is 5150 instead of 11250. Took me forever to figure that one out..kept having 99 signal but 0 quality on all transponders..not just the even or odd...

Thanks for you detail instructions, I just got my virgin 2700E
and from help of your instructions I was able to setup my IRD fairly easy.

May I add something?

1- Although this instruction mentioned Pansat 2700A, it also works with 2700E (the receiver without coax TV out and local Antenna In)

2- I have 61.5 and 119 dishes, and my PANSAT 2770E is smart enough to detect all the required setting when I did 'Blind Scan" so steps 22-26 may not be required.

It looks like your window's security features are stopping you to downloand. Look on the top for a meassage or change security settings.

I have connected Dish 61.5 to Input 1 and Dish 110 to Input 3 . The signal strenght from 61.5 is very very weak. I am not getting the channels from 61.5 Dish. Can anyone suggest a remedy. Thanks a lot

I don't think you are supposed to turn the units off while loading, something about it might damage the memory. I would try to reset the factory settings in the menu and try loading again if possible.

Are you using the latest bin for the flash. Are you using the correct bin for you lmb's? You Might need a different bin for the dish pro lnbs as opposed to the legacy. They said the channel list is only working for the legacy lmb's. Can you reflash when it does power up. Was the box running yesterday before the key change at noon central time? Sounds like it is just a quirk, but I heard today that they are, as of today supecting that there are some cloned 2700 out there.

Think there was just a key change at 12 central? All channels went blank. Took the oportunity to load the new autoroll 140c but nothing. Does it take time? How do you know the autoroll is working? Tried the reset keys but nothing.

Confusion. Used the 140 api and now have two key data lines for both key 00 and 01. What's going on? Key updated are only given in key 00 and 01. 4 lines of data and only 2 lines given??

If the 2700 must use two diseqc inputs to receive both 110 and 119, then why is there an lnb option for dishpro lnb's(i.e. - 2 birds on a single input)? The 2700 treats both lnb's as if they were singles anyway. I ask because I own 3 brands of receivers and the others have menu options that allow for this - you plug in a single dish500 input and see both 110/119. Any insights?

Update: I found it! The pansat bin puts twin lnb 1 and 2 options in a different place - under switch settings. It CAN use d500 twins and still see both birds from one input.

I am using the pansat 2500 a and can not seem to get the file for the pansat 2700. I have been searching for the zip file and can not find it. If you can please refer me to a thread which had the file I really would appreciate and make life more easier.

DO NOT run the Downloader from the zip file. Unzip the files to a folder, then proceed with the instructions below....

PLEASE.......Read the instructions first. Then Download the "UT Pansat 2700A only.zip" file at the bottom which contain both applications, or download the individule application depending on your needs.

Here we Go :

1). Turn your 2700 "OFF" via rear switch.
2). Connect the RS232C null modem cable to the receiver and Com1 port of your computer. (Use Com2 if not Com1 is not available).
3). Plug in the receiver, Turn your 2700 "ON" via the rear switch, and see that the “On” is indicated on the LED on the receiver.
4). Run the Downloader (GTRom Loader v3[1].35 [pansat2700A].exe) from the new created folder.
5. Click the App File only button, browser and select the “latest update” file,example X-87BL_050901_114_api then click the Open button.
6. Double check and make sure the cable is securely connected.
7. Click the Download button, wait until the “Download Completed!!” is displayed. Watch the LED on the receiver, it should reboot itself, wait until the “On” display.
8). Wait for unit to finish flash, DO NOT INTERUPT!
9). When receiver reboots and displays “On” You are done with the software update.

What exactly are you trying to? Upload a channel list or apply the latest bin to your Pansat?

I'm assuning you are trying to get started, in any event you should be using the latest loader and bin for a 2700. I believe the loader is X-87BL Loader v27[1].01 and the bin is Pansat2700a-X-87BL_070104_290_api and they can both be found in the files area.

Step 1 install the loader on your PC and setup with an available com port (usually com1).
Step 2 turn off receiver using the switch on the back and connect the receiver the the PC with the appropriate cable.
Step 3 turn on the receiver using the switch on the back.
Step 4 start up the loader application select the latest bin then download the file to your receiver.
Step 5 once download complete power of receiver and disconnect from PC.
Step 6 reconnect receiver to satellite feed and TV and configure set-up as detailed in docement you quoted above.
Step 7 watch TV.

You must go to antenna settings, and reset your settings as you had them before the b-75 flash. Everything needs to be setup again.

:cry: Hello friends. I was reading all your post and I still with some dudes. I install the B-75 bin 205 last week end and my PANSAT 2700A is not receiving nothing, in screen only shows NO SIGNAL.
Must I go to antena setting?
I was using a bin since February (295) and it was working fine. Now with B-75 my pansat doesn't have signal.

The first thing you have to do is buy a Straight through serial cable. Download BL updater 1.3 ( available here in the DSS files section .. blue bar at top of your screen ). Then the latest autoroll file.

You can now go back to your channel list and delete all of the channels that are duplicate, and bad or scramble error. they are "Ghost Channels".

Hope this helps someone and save them from scratching their heads !

P.S. 263 bin is out dated and does not work any longer. Look for the newest bin in the files archives. Hope this helps yas out:beer:

I can't dowload the new bin from my computer.
I have pansat 2800A e every time i click to dowload, just freeze with 0% dowloading. i use the RS 232 cable to usb adapter

It would be better if you started a thread and asked your question in the Pansat 3500 section. You will get better help that way.

I downloaded the newest update three times yesterday 9/23/08 and nothing no signal at all happened so is their a new update yet?

2700a remote control setup....got a new control for my pansat 2700a put new batteries on it but is not working... do i need to setup this remote to work with my old box, how is this done?

Are you using correct cable? Did you flash with b-75 boot file first? Is your unit an original or clone?
You gotta provide a little bit more info so peeps can help you out.

Had the same problem before. Thought it was the files!!! Turned out to be the batteries!!! Check them out. Even if they're new, take 'em out and re seat them. Also if your under flourescent lights, that can mess up the remotes signal.;) Hope this helps you.

I am using the right capable and I have no idea what you mean by b-75 boot file.
And I bought this Pansat 2700a over the internet.

I am using the pansat 2500 a and can not seem to get the file for the pansat 2700. I have been searching for the zip file and can not find it. If you can please refer me to a thread which had the file I really would appreciate and make life more easier.

i followed all the instructions using loader X-87BL Loader v27.02 [X-87BL].exe and bin file X_87BL_090502_V212_api_femu.bin waited until the download is completed. the box did not reboot and i see a dash line running across the display panel for over an hour.... what do I do??
