I'm concidering purchasing a Dreambox. I don't know which model but need some recommendation on model, is it easy to configured for DISH, where can I get the DISH files? If yyou think is not worth it then what FTA would you recommend.

A Coolsat 4000 Pro will be enough for most people, in my opinion. It basically has everything that you would want, without it being too basic (cheap). Its not low-end nor high-end - basically somewhere in the middle.
Dreamboxes, I believe, are high-end receivers with many features. Both DM7020 and DM500 are Linux-based. DM500 is about $300, DM7020 - double the price. There has been a high demand recently for DM500's though. I am not sure why. I wouldn't recommend it unless you really knew what you were doing and did lots of research to get it set up.

I am also looking at a dreambox - The only thing I seem to see a problem with is the screen cutting off the video on the db forums. Does anyone know if this is something to do with the PAL to NTSC conversion - is this a video or a hardware problem? Not that it really matters, my main tv will do both, but I am really curious.
The rest of it is not a problem as I am a "computer junkie" and I know most of my computer stuff - little slow with Linux, but it won't take me too long to figure out....
