Could a charitable soul help me jtaging my lifetime ultra? I have found succsessful stories about reviving the pansat using Jtag but zero for the ultras. I did already the jtag but I need the Jkeys for the ultra. I used a Jkeys for pansat and gives me the message "the flash codes returned are not recognized by JKEYS.

i have found that you have to run wall.exe in the background.
thats only way that it worked for me.
hit reset on wall and then jkeys will not give you the error.
ive done it twice and it worked like a charm.

Tank you very much for your help. My Lifetime Ultra has alreday the night rider lights on, I wanted to load its original bin but it did not allowed me. I am going to try with a cross cable to do it from IRD to IRD and I will post my results.

I opened up my Fortec Ultra, and there is NO 20 pin connector to hook the JTAG to. Is this normal?
Do I have to solder in a 20 pin connector socket?

Yes, you need to solder them in order to conect and disconnect the conector easily or you can solder directly the cables there. I did the last one but I recomend the one with conectors.

That is what I figured. I just ordered a Jtag for $12.95 and the seller is throwing in the connector I need to solder in.

is there any other way to jtag with out soldering

Ok, I need a little help here guys.
I installed my JTAG. I programmed it using the 9-29-04 bin file. I have the unit so it will now turn on.
Now, here is the part I need help on. Instead of the Night Rider Lights, I now get the number "8" that scrolls across the front panel before it goes to "on"
Problem is, it will NOT let me program it to any other bins. It will NOT even let me upload a channel list.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do?
Do I need to reprogram the EEprom? if so, does anyone have an EEprom BIN file to upload to my eeprom?
