I currently hack on DTV but am interesting in learning about Dishnet for a relative that uses it. I have a question for any Dishnet Guru's. What is the difference between the AVR3 and 4 and does the autroll work on the AVR4 or is that not tested yet either? I saw on the site advertised on DSSTESTER(Easybuy2000) an AVR4 Autoroll board for $89.99. Is this board any good. I need something for a relative that lives 3500 miles away and requires minimal programming. He is currently subscribed therefore from what I read he can keep his card intact and just use the AVR to program all channels. Is that correct info?

Well Dish is more involed than DTV, specially the use of an Avr3/4.... They require you to program them , plus if something happens to them they need to be reprogramed...

For the least amount of trouble go with a rom2 or rom3 card program it with a good blocker code and 3m and that should be good until charlie hits it.. lol :)
