I'm new to DISH and have ordered a wave programer from DSSCANUCK ( for dish and dtv ).My goal is to be able to do dish myself and not rely on others for programing and other stuff ,I've been reading everything and have a question regarding autoroll ,is there freeware available for it ? Can I do the whole Dish thing on freeware ? I found a jtag that you just plug into the bottom of your ird and it gives you the irdbox keys , then you pull it out and have the keys ,do i still need to get cam keys ?I dont want my friends to have to get the keys every other day or so ,and would like to go with autoroll,unless there is something else more practical .Can anyone offer advise on this ..For the jtag and programer the cost is around $200.00CAN for the works ,what else will i have to spend money on ? How much?

you will need a programer to program your card if you are doing bev you will only need to change the keys every 6 months or so for dish you need to change then twice a week you can use public autoroll soft.after you have the box keys you can program them to your card np for the box keys if you can get them from a service or purchase the equip but you will only need to take the box keys once as they do not change. eric :)

On a side note for you Bev users. They just changed there keys.

Bambino, this jtag come ready built for $75.00 US but they dont ship to the US ( dont worry about that for now )I beleive there site was avrsforeveryone.com..If not I ordered it from webby@avrsforeveryone.com...This thing is something you put in the long oval/rectangularish hole on the bottom of the ird and it unloads the box keys ..called a wjtag or webbyjtag ..sounds like webby makes them ..I could have paid $15 more and had it shipped fedex but since I'm new to this and need to do a lot of reading I said priority would be ok and if it took 2 weeks I didnt mind ...If you contact him and you are in the US and cant get it shipped to you let Me know and I'll give you my e-mail address and we will do things a bit different and you will still get your wjtag..

bambino,I just got my wjtag today ,I ordered it on the 10th.I,m in Alberta .it was shiped priority at no charge to me ...there was no gst to pay either..

stientime2001,sorry to take so long posting this reply ..I think it is super slick you just press it into the slot ,the little pins in the wjtag compress and when you lean the plug you have pressed into the slot in the ird ,over slightly and release the pressure it catches underthe case of the ird and just stays there while you bring up code gen file and read keys .I didnt go any farther cause I've been busy with the dtv hashes .I want to try nagraedit when I finish with todays kill on dtv...
