Can i use a flash that uses the DTV crystal for the dish cards so that i can read the rom version or is that risky business?
I have a programer/unlooper/HUloader that i am using to do this the crystal says 18.432Mhz on it don't konw if that helps.

But if it's a rom3 you can use echoloader program to use you hu-loader to progam dish cards....

But that's also a little risky... :)

would i be smarter to get a dual crystal programer form dss canuck.com? or do you have any other sujustions for a good dish programer?
