I wish to continue to subscribe to the basic package and want to occasionally open up everything. What is the best method?
Can an avr3 do everything a programmer can?
Can I read all the keys from my legit card, with avr3, programmer?
Any help is appreciated. I understand programming dss fairly well and want to move to dish now.

I'm not a dish expert but I would advise using an AVR as it will open up everything with no trace on your card. Get Eepedit. It will explain a lot to you.

well let me start by asking what you have now, card wise(bottom right corner) and Ird model ?....Since your system is in use and/or new then you will need an avr3 most likley..
Dish is somewhat like dtv, you can use a *3m or tier code(blocker/activation) in dish...
P.S. Dish can ECM your card and Ird in seconds without the proper protection, specially ex-subs...Just a warning

Thanks, guys!
I think I am going to get a new receiver with locked TSOP/eeprom and keys pulled as a
second reciever.
