Ordered a Blackbird for a friend (he has no internet). He couldn't get it to work so he brought it to me. I had it up and going in a few minutes, gets lots of channels but a few say scrambled. I down loaded and up loaded a new PFF file to the thing (march17-PFF). What I was wondering is there any way to unscramble these channels or is this normal. Tried 110 and Bell vu, the results pretty much the same. I am new to this so any guidance will be appreciated. This is what happens when you do a computer illiterate friend a favor.
You’re tech support for life.
Thanks in advance.

Harry don't know if this will help or not, but I'll try. I have a Blackbird, as well as a Pansat 2500A. When I got the BB it had the 1000 chip in it, and it worked great. Then, the mfg said they had to upgrade it and put a 2000 chip in it so it will continue to work. Had that done, hasn't worked right since. Takes longer to descramble the channels now, and some channels won't descramble at all when they did before when it had the 1000 chip in it. Don't know what chip he has in his IRD, if it's a 2000 chip, that may be the cause. Even when I put the updated fix on my BB, it still won't descramble some of the channels. That's the problem that caused mine was getting the chip changed. I.E., I wished I would have left it the way I bought it instead of getting it "updated." Again, if the 2000 chip is in it, that may be the cause. Someguys may disagree with me, that's fine, but that is what caused my BB to do what his is doing. Hope this helps, giving you a possibility of your problem.
One more thing, sometimes if you let it sit on a scrambled channel for a couple of minutes, the channel may pop on.
