Do you mean satellite settings, dish pointing, or what? You'll need a KU band lnb, and yes a linear is one. As far as dish pointing get the satfinder program in the FTA files section here. I think the FTA Other forum has some info on LNB's etc. Lyngsat.com has alot of info on the sats themselves and programming.
