I just got my Pansat 2500a, I'm having a little trouble getting a signal.
My dishnetwork receiver shows 100+ signal strength, but when i plug in the Pansat with the same sat, i'm getting 30. Even when i remove the cable, it still shows a signal strength of 30. Has anyone experience this?
I have read the installation instructions provided by Manteca.
Equipment:
DirecTV round dish (1 lnb)
Here is what i did:
Used 2300_2500_1500 Downloader.exe (8500_040824_233_api(N).bin
Used gTools to upload sat
Even tried going in Parental controls (second pin)
This is as far as i got.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

With that dish, you will only get 1 sat. Your dish receiver should tell you which one (110 or 119)-you need to set up that sat in the pansat.
There should be some step by step set-up instructions posted here. If not, they are posted at other sites. The 233 bin is a update from Aug 24, 2004-it won't work now. I did see a new bin posted here with the new 12/02/04 keys-I think it's a 237 with new keys.
If your using gtools to downlaod a channel list, make sure it's set to type2 or you could fry your new 2500A.
I just uploaded some instructions to the members upload FTA area-check it out.
Good luck,

post back if U need more help
I've been busy the last few days.
I just tried the new bin. I got the same thing
I set up the signal with a DishNetwork receiver (100 signal).
Then switch to pansat, but getting 30 signal.
I remove the coax cable and still 30 signal.
Not sure what i did wrong.

Signal means little or nothing-quality means everything. You need at least a 70 quality first on transponders that you can receive before you proceed to step 2- so your still on step one. You still haven't explained what sat your pointed at. If your dish is still pointed at 101 DTV-that won't work.
Your dish receiver should tell you what sat your receiving-if it doesn't, your on some other sat than dish.
Step one is dish pointing.
step two is entering that sat (110, or 119) into your Pansat which will assign the proper TP frequencies for that sat. Also enter the other sat info in the instructions (LNB type, LNB frequency, Etc)

Make sure you set the lnb frequency at 11250, if its at 10750 it will not tell you if you have quality or not.

make sure the reciever connections are correct
from satellite Dish/LNB to IF input #1 see pic in pansat manual
IF output is for hooking 2 pansats together #2 see pic in pansat manual
IF output to IF input (no brainer there :D)
ANT IN is for a terresterial antenna input #3 see pic in pansat manual
from TV out to Television (no brainer there also:D) #4 see pic in pansat manual
and make sure U have the correct satellites enabled in the menu
in the Menu:
the 110 is Echo 8.6
the 119 is Echo 7
the 91 is Nimiq 1
the 82 is Nimiq 2
the 61.5 is Echo 3
post back
