OK first off don`t use any software that came with the card except the drivers. The software is for true FTA only.
Next choose the DVB software you want to use. I have tried them all and prefer Ritzdvb because it is easy to set up and reliable, the down side is that there is no good remote control support.
There are tons of tutorials on the actual setup of this software so just do a search, but here are a few points you need to know.
You will need a modified transponder ini file for the dishpro. If you go to Ritzdvb website there is a great add on pack for it all pre made. Unless you are using a Diseq switch....
The packages of Ritz that are all configured are not as reliable as one would hope so I suggest a fresh download from the site.
The next thing is read, read, and read......like I said there is a ton of tutorials, help topics, and troubleshooting already posted.
Hope this helps
shackman,
i'm thinking about getting a pansat.
Just wondering why you would get a vp1020a when you have a pansat?

There are pros and cons to both....
Highlights dvb cards are:
1.) Easy install.
2.) Doesn`t get "Hit" like a pansat, and fixes are quicker to come out.
3.) Can be used to record shows onto your hard drive like a PVR
4.) Cheaper than a Pansat
5.) Can be used to watch guy stuff when the wife is watching a chick flicks.
6.) Isn`t setting on the TV screaming "Look at what I am doing"
7.) Is more fun to test with.
