HELLO everybody i just bought a fortec lifetime ultra and im having some problems with it and it would be really good if u guys can help me out here. K according to the instructions given with the reciever i hooked it up to the computer and dowloaded the firmware or whatever in the reciever. Now that i hooked it up to the t.v and i scan it for any although it shows that it has scanned some channels when i try to watch it it says BAD OR SCRAMBLED CHANNEL. NOW I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO. Also there is a $$ sign besides every channel does that mean that i can't watch pay per views or any paid channels for free... please help me out cause im really worried if i made a good investment or not. PLEASE TELL ME IF ANYONE KNOW ABOUT THIS..... :sad:

let me see I dont know much about these but I believe you have to enter a pasword as in the pansat as well the pansat password is 0000, and the fortec pasword is I believe 0101, if not check the forums here they will have a step by step of what to do next.

the $ sign is just a sign, it means nothing. All the channels have that beside them. I have an ultra and it works great! There are a couple of reasons that you may be getting the error message, but i need a bit more info in order to help you out. there are some good resources on this site and if you pm me, I will send you a step-by-step walk-through that is sure to help! Heres looking at getting you up and running!!!!
k take ur time and send me the information as soon as possible. The main problem is that most of the channels say scrambled or bad channel and therefore i cant view them. so please do whatever u can i would really appreciate it.
