Hello,
This guy around my place of work is selling brand new Pansat box for $250. From what I have heard it's only for Charle no card is needed? Can someone shed some light on this for me? does it really work and would I need a new dish, becuase I currently have dave.
Thanks

your current dish will work you will have to tune to 119w or 110w for programming to get both you will need a disqec switch . check out the fta forum on this site for more info

$250 is too much unless it's canadian. CHeck fleabay! they're much cheaper. Mine was $180 (US) with everything (Diseqc, cable, remote).

some of the sellers even include a CD with everything you need to flash the receiver, including the fix, channel lists and VERY DETAILED instructions.

It will pick up bev also but you will need a dish for each and a diseque switch.for dishnet only you will need two dishes and the switch to get all the channels, most anyways.only downfall with fta is there is no guide or not much of one.heard they are working on one but havn't seen anything yet.

Yes, it absolutely does work. But Dish is only a small portion of its capabilities. You can tune in up to 60 different satellites, 3000 channels. Of course, you need a dish pointed at each satellite, or a motorized dish. The most common applications in the testing community seems to be Dishn*t and Bev. And, no, you cannot descramble Dave (no P4 hack yet). But you can use your Dave dish.

lyngsat is not a bird. lyngsat.com is where you go and find fta channels, charlie and bev and what tp they are on. the oval dave dish will work fine. i have an old dave pc dish with lnbs cable tied together and getting 110 and 119.

The oval dish will only work if there isn't built in switches that aren't compatible with Pansat. If there is, no good. I think some Dave ovals have the switch built in. You need straight lines from each lnb to a DisEqc switch.
As far as the channel you want, it looks like it's on the 116 satellite. You will likely need a separate dish to point at it. Find it with a compass. A satellite finder meter is really helpful. About $10 or $12 on ebay.
