Can anyone tell me if you can use a card reader or loader that was used for huextreme for programming cards for dish. If so , is there any program you have to use to use it.

You really need to get an ISO programer...much easier than trying to alter an old HU loader and it will work much better. It is now time to check out the newbie guides posted in the Dish Newbie forums...lots of great info there that will answer many of your questions.

Good luck and welcome to DSSTester!!!!

Once you have read then ask whatever questions you have :D

psssst.....shhh....looks like I got 4000 before Mas had a chance to knock me back. I think this is my third time hitting 4000 :D

Hey mdm90,

Check the Want to Sell forums and you'll find plenty of ISOs for sale at reasonable prices. I have some also. PM me if interested.

Good luck!

I agree with Chuck. Yes, it is possible to convert a DTV programmer to work with Dish, but there is all the screwing around in order to do it. For the few dollars it will cost you to buy the "right stuff" you will be much better off in the long run. You will have a programmer that was designed to do just what you want it to do. As an added benefit, should you have difficulties with the new programmer, there will no doubt be other testers here at this site who have the exact same programmer you have and they will be able to lend you a helping hand to get your system back up and running again.

On the other hand, if you are the type person who likes to tinker with stuff like that, and you get hours of enjoyment out of it, then okay, go ahead and try to convert an old DTV programmer. But if you want to get into the swing of things and start programming cards, then break down and buy the ISO programmer. You won't regret it.
