Bev to Dish – Dish to Bev Guide
Bxxxx ird’s that will convert to Dish +
2700 (A)
3100.010
Model 3500C (3000)*
4700
5100 (PVR) **
5800 (PVR) ***
6000 (HDTV)
* 3000/3500/4000/4500/5000 models are a little more involved trying to get your Boxkeys. I won’t get into it. There are “how-to’s” on this around.
Point your dish to the dish sat you want. (Bev & Dish are about 3 degrees apart from each other). It should say wrong satellite in the point dish screen. On the 3100 with your Jtag, change full erase to SA3. On the 2700, change full erase to SA5. Erase 4 or 5 times. Connect the ird's to the sat stream with no card in the slot, plugged in but powered off. The firmware will be downloaded in 20 minutes.
The green light will blink a few times...stay on...blink some more for about 5-10 minutes.
It will blink faster when it is close to finishing the process. If you have your TV on while doing this...it should be in the black screen mode....when complete...it will be snowy and IRD should turn itself off.
+ Every Bxxxx ird will go to dish.
** The 5100 has been replaced by the 5800 (80GB hard drive).
*** The new 5800 may have a larger HDD but you will need to pay Bev their additional receiver blood money or run it as a test unit unless you want to take the chance on the mod to change the IRD and Boxkeys so it can be cloned ... (One of the Tsops must be boosted to 12v to change the box keys or IRD # as the sector they are in is locked by the need for additional voltage)
The 5100s are similar to the 3100 in that the earlier units had the jtag opening in the case, but the newer ones and the 5800s have no opening and require removal of the main board to access the jtag pads. This requires removal of the cover, hard drive assembly, a power sub-board and the front panel.

Go to in the “Flash Programming” in Jkeys 2.9.10 or 2.9.9 and click on the down arrow button in the erase section and click on the SA erase address for the unit you have. Might wanna click the erase button 3 or 4 times to be sure it's erased.

The 3900 will not go to Bxxxx unless you use a model 3700 Tsop to turn it to a 2700.
The 301-13 will not fully convert to Bev some people claim a bunch of channels are missing like ALL the ppv`s
The 2800 to 2700 you need to use FlashEdit to customize the image with your IRD# and box keys. And back up your current TSOP/EEPROM before you flash the new firmware.
