I got it up and running yesterday. Think I messed up the satelite choice. I have like 6 or 7 selected. I have to go all the way thru over 1700 channels. Some say channel scrambled. I do however get some ppv and a lot of other junk.
What I want to do is get this thing down to just the channels that I can actually watch. Also where you select which satelite do you just put a check mark on one?
Thanks for any help that I may get. I love learning new projects.. :hat:

What do you have your dish aimed to receive? 110-119 birds for D$sh? Need some more info.

i've got the same situation with the silver bullet, but i've aimed at 4 satellites. the bullet has a channel edit feature which allows you to quickly delete the excess and duplicated channels. if you don't clean out the excess, you'll fill up at 2000 channels.

I am using a pansat 2500a..pointed at dish echo 119 I think. What I did was leave all the satelites checked when I scanned the channels. Should I unchek all those but echo and rescan?
Thanks everyone

from prior scans. Since you've only got 119, then scan that one.
If your not sure then scan 110 too. it wont hurt.
You'll know when the scans says $ TV 529 = 119

i'm puzzled over this one ... i can't get the 119 at my house due to a mountain, but 110, and BEV come in just fine. i have another house that gets them all, and that's where i formed the channel lists. but when i'm watching BEV at home, quite of the few 119 channels work on that bird. what am i doing right?
grazzy......if you can get the 110 bird in...you should be able to get the 119 bird....they are so very close together its almost impossible not too.if you just have a dish 500 id upgrade my dish to an eliptical or superdish...stronger signals
ridge,
you dont want to scan ALL the satellites unless your dish has a motor on it that it can move to catch the signal...if all you have is a couple dual lnbs on a dish 500 the only two sats you need to scan are the echo8.6 and the echo 7 sats........as for me...i added another dish to my own setup and pointed it to 61.5 and im bringing in three sats
im contemplating upgrading and buying a motor for my own setup....ive been checking around and the best deals ive found were on EBAY
those that also upgrade this way will now understand why us old timers loved our cband dishes......sat surfing is fun
hope this helped you boys out...pm if you need any other help......

mook: in my area, there's a six degree drop in elevation from the 110 to the 119. i BARELY get the 110, due to the mountain, and that's after putting a pole in concrete on top of my flat roof. do you think an oval dish would let me aim differently (away from the mountain) to get the 119?
