I should think the place where you purchased the Atmega would have whatever you needed. I would try there first.

No need to buy one, just use your PRINTER cable, or you can plug in the atmega board rithg in the computer printer port and program.

still going to need that male to male adapter.you can get that at radio shack

must have low voltage in the printer port need an alternate powersource .

I don't know Mas, all I know is that he says he needs an alternate power source. I take it that means an external power supply. That's why I recommend getting it from wherever he bought the Atmega board. They should know exactly what he needs.

does male to male cable need to have a power souce that hooks to the mouse or a male to male be ok , for the atmega to work .

As far as I know all atmegas get power from printer port-no xtra cable to mouse port needed. Make sure you use a 6ft printer cable. I tried a 10ft today and it wouldnt work at all.

workin now , but when i write on atmega i put it in not autorize for channels comes up , on 6- 10 ecm did it effct the receivers .

try atmega edit 4.5,it is working good now.it is in the dish file section

what channels r u getting and what atmega file did you put on it?
to update you have to give permisiom to updat hook up cable and plug in outlet turn off with remote ,you dont have to have card or atmega in ird.make sure you have a sw21 switch if you dont have the twin 500,do a test with switch.if it one you dont need a switch with,when you test it will give numbers from 1 to 38,if you need switch it will be 1 to 50.hope this help

Did you go into the menu and set it up to allow updates without permission? Do that and turn off receiver...when power light blinks you are receiving updates...what update is it at now?

What software revision is the 3800 at? I think ti should be x797. I had the same problem the other day. Normally when I program atmega I leave the keys at 0000 and let them roll on there own but the other day card was in stream for like 2 hrs and still only 4or 5 channels so I reprogrammed with current keys and had tv in 5 minutes.

797 is the correct software revision for the 3800
