I have an old iso programmer it will read a rom10 and write it but it wont do 2s or 3s so I opened it up and found the problem it has a 3.5795 crystal I want to change to a3.6864 but I need to find the right 1 the 1 <_< <_< it has in it is not solderd it is in a bed it has 4 prongs looks like a small atmel the numbers on it are SG531P 3.5795M 9252A is there a replacement for this

I am not sure that a 3.68 crystal can be obtained that will fit right into the place where the old did. You can check around at different electronic parts places and see what you can come up with. My guess is that you will have to take what you can get and then modify the programmer slightly to make it work. It should be very easy to do this, crystals normally have two leads and to make it fit shouldn't pose a big problem.

I have never seen a crystal with 8 leads. I have seen a few with 3 leads because one is a case ground.

I have seen a 4 prong xtal being sold on ebay recently grouped with other type xtals. Don't know if links are allowed to be posted here but the auction is #820329271. Hope this helps you out
