Has anyone seen or heard of this model? Should it use the same software as other DVB-S cards to get Charlie? I'm interested in this one b/c best price :) Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Peace

Me personilty I've been looking at black bird PCI. Sounds like that what everyone has in favor around here.

the price is just too much. You can by vision PCI on ebay for cheap. But I've found this Compro....only $59.00 brand new. That's a steal. Just wanna make sure its basically the same thing before purchasing, you know.

The Compro PCI card is a TV tuner card not a DVB card. It is not capable of testing sat signals. As for the Vision plus, I have one and it works great. It is called many names like BB Vision, however it is actually a Twinhan VP1020A.
They run anywhere from 100-160 $ and do not support LNBs that have a built in switches. Limited programs are available to test (Progdvb, MyTheatre, Ritzdvb,DVBDream) and are certainly not plug and play. Anyone wishing to test this card needs an understanding of file manipulation, and alot of patients.

Yeah I realize that...I'm up for the challenge...I know you really gotta pay for PnP for FTA...and then not really PnP...more like plug and play-around. Anyways, I've decided on PCI DVB-S cards are what I'm going to try. You say they don't work with LNBs w/built in switches (which is what I think my 18 x 24 dual LNB Para Todos Dave dish is)...what should I look to buy a single LNB dish...I hear dish500 is good. What do you use, Morbid? Thanks for your time.

I have tested on a few dishes. DTV single ,double, DN 500 and 500pro.
Currently I have the Dual LNB dishpro installed to see what can be done with the built in switch. Keep in mind that if you do have a built in switch, you will get some of the channels, but not all of them.
