Ok, since my original thread was thoroughly hijacked and trashed, let me see if there is anyone testing the Emu cards.
Has anyone followed-up on this concept and actually succeeded in getting programming?
I started my original thread in hopes of actually trying out this method of testing, not stirring any pot, with anybody.

might be better to just delete post 2,3 then delete this one after that so this thread is back on track.

Everyone here has been on edge since N2 shutdown. My intent was to get this thread is on track, I am very interest in some useful info... just no one has been posted any useful info yet in the new thread. I just didn't think the comment was too funny and it was honestly vulgar, and a clear violation of the rules. I would post some useful info, but not testing any IKS systems yet, I am just here to learn about these devices.

I am going to do some more reading, maybe post back some useful info as I assess some on the various forums...

Technically, post #5 was just as wasteful as post #2, #3, or #6. I wasn't trying to offend anyone, so far the only one banned was roberinsky. Would like to keep it that way, so lets get back on topic

I have read a lot as well and the terms slinger and dongle are still fuzzy. For those who feel desperate enough to hook up with IKS / internet it would seem any IRD would work but it seems only a couple actually do like nfusion and sonicview as a couple of examples. If one chooses to try IKS does your IRD have to remain hooked up via ethernet to your slinger / router?

In Mexico there is a device "Reflex" being sold which apparantly is running on a modified RQecho-client.
There is some work going on to use a modified Linksys WRT54GL with RQecho-client. This would eliminate the need for a PC.
So there are some alternatives being worked on.

Your question was addressed in the closed thread. Do some searching and reading about a couple programs. The ones your interested in are called NKshare and RQCS. RQCS seems to be the more widely supported, but NKshare is done by an old pro and he's a pretty sharp cookie. Either way they both will let you IKS on a PRIVATE network. A private network is as safe as you can get. Only catch is you have to know someone who is subbing and willing to be the server. It's pretty easy after that.

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about!
Thank ALL of you for your input, much appreciated.
