Hello everyone, wow ... seems like the old days of Dave all over again.
Been here for a while and i appreciate all the good knowledgeable people and mods in here.
Since Nag3 rolled out those people that aren't willing to wait for a fix have been steered into 2 basic camp I.E. ICS and IKS, but after reading it seems there is another group within the IKS family that has me a little confused.
There is a device called a slinger that i have seen advertised that is claiming to have everything open PPV's and Porn and also the other provider that isn't to be spoken of
I guess my question is this .... if the others like the sonicview i-hub and Kbox are open with the exception of the PPV's and Porn how is the slinger able to do this??
If i understand the other forms right they are basically clones of a original sub and so the PPV's and Porn would have to be ordered individually (thus a list of movie time for those people within the group so they can set the PRV's to record.
But when asked about the slinger all anyone says is they are open and i just don't see how that is possible without a hack or raising a HUGE red flag with charlie with the continuous orders??

Well sorry if this is posted in the wrong group but i figured if i asked in the general forum others can see and maybe be able to enlighten me.

It raises the question of Charlie's N3 possibly being hacked and the Slinger is the platform to release it. Maybe the Slinger inventor is getting rich selling his hack that way!
Could that even be possible?

Good post and question...My 2 cents....possibly the card is hacked(who knows for sure...not me!) and if it is lets say tiers can be written to it?.... now if that where possible with N3 the Hacker who did it might want to keep it private in ways but still share so he or an assistant write the code and creat the slinger, then they approach a small select group to discuss the possibilities of marketing this in a secure manner and do so with those from that group they offered it to that can afford to buy in.......plausible scenario no?

Mili .... my reason for asking wasn't to bash .. as you can see i don't post because most questions i have have already been asked.
But to me this is one that begs to be asked.
I understand trade secrets and all but the concept behind this forum and the many like it is testing?? In one of your post you stated that the PPV's and Porn were open, the simple question is how is it possible to have open tiers on the PPV's and porn without doing a rewrite of the tiers them self and for that to be possible the security of the card has been compromised which will be a great thing for the community as a whole.
like i said ... i understand trade secrets and all but you also have to understand that for a person to want to purchase something they should have a clear understanding of what they will being getting and your reference to those open tiers would lead many to believe that everything was open.
While i have your attention maybe you can explain it, with the ppv's and porn is this set up like other ics and iks systems where you have "movie times" for which the end user who may want to record something will need to tune in at a specific time or set up there prv to record at that time or is it as you said that all ppv's and porn are open.
