My friend just bought a Pansac 5000 receiver and a Dish 500 dish. I know I Pansat receivers are ancient, but he didn't know any better and can't return/exchange it.

Does this receiver work with this dish? If it does, can you point me to where I can find some directions on how to set it up (setup instructions and files to download).

Is Pansat 5000 a slow receiver? I've heard that it is.

I've used ViewSat and SonicView receivers with 18" DirecTV dishes for a few years now but never used Pansat receivers and Dish 500.
