Don't forget to scan and write an IKS channel like

Dish: Channel 100-00113 (password: 123456789)

Man this sounds like a lot of trouble...

Not really...anyone who can install a router or switch on their home network can use this product. On the other hand, if you don't know what the internet is and how to use it, this product is not for you. :D

petesake is right. the software is simple and easy to install, and yes pete i installed the drivers and setup the software in a blink. the only catch is the router and modem configuration, and, if would have stuck with the default "admin" user and pass i'd probably be good but i must have changed it thinking that i'm some tricky guy or something now i have start from scratch, and it may not be rocket science but if your not setting up routers occasionally it can become somewhat of a pain. i will go at it again later 2nite once the kids are asleep. im thinking a section on router config (not the one mili has) where everyone can post and share their info may be somehting to look into. ttyl all and thanks for everyone pitching in their 2cents, the more info the better!

I didn't have to do a router configuration. Just plug n play.

Oh, just one thing. Check your source port. You have to assign a real value for it to work. When I got my unit, the default sort port was 65535 but I changed this to 10367 and worked fine.

I think most networks only accept source ports between 10,000 - 50,000 so you need to be careful!

Sorry guys comp troubles.
Orange light means (solid) that you did get an IP from your router but the router or modem/router is blocking the UDP packets from the server.
Please read my modem/rotuer how to on http://www.bellexpress.vu/Slinger_modem_and_router_configuration.htm and let me know if your modem has a NAT built in or not, if you configured your router with DMZ and static mapping and port forward and in general what is your network setup like (cable or DSL, what exact modem and router etc...)

mili ok, still haven't achieved "solid green" status yet, did get it to blinking green though. Got into my router (had to reset the thing to get admin back) linksys befsrv41v4 and think im ok in there, but at this point i'm kind of at a standstill as i can't seem to find d*ck on my WEBSTAR DPC2100 cable modem, pretty sure thats where my problem lies. just need to get better info on messing with my modem and should be good.. any and all help appreciated..

Blinking green is good. Means you have communication with the server. You won't get solid green until you insert the Slinger wafer into your IRD, and it starts to boot up.

When mine blinks green, I stick the wafer in the IRD. After about 5 seconds, goes solid green and than "Acquiring Sat Signal". Pics always comes in after that.

If you got blinking green, you are 99% there. Good luck!
