I was reading something about a new dongle (Ihub) for the Sonicview line of receivers.
Anyone got info on those yet?

I hear they are selling from authorized SV sites for $99.00.

Here's a question to go along with the original question and someone's comment about the $90 plus cost of these items.

Since it is just a rs232 (serial) to rj45 (ethernet) adapter why does it cost so much?

I did a Google search and found one at an electronics company for $10.

I can't believe there is anything special about one "ihub" adapter for one brand as opposed to one for another brand.

Any thoughts ?

Update:

Did some more searching and finally found an answer to my question. It is located at this thread:

I read that a electronic teck made one of them and tried it and fried it and maybe the receiver also ...must have a chip in the unit or something because you have a serial nr on each unit you purchace and if you dont have the serial nr it wont work anyway.....and they are working good just some freezing and as far as i have seen fairly simple to install everything needed i did one in about 10 minutes and was watching tv.....seems bev is almost all channels and dish is coming along.........good luck.....SH

P.S. saw them on flea-bay:D for 60 us dollar's or make offer.....
