Can anyone tell me how to jtag a cw700s? M:sad:ine is dead it just has a red light on it. Tried turning off power on back and holding front power button and it won't work

you need to hold on on fron power button and then turn it on from the back, it should work and give you the leters boot on the diplay,then load your bin by serial cable only:beer:

I have the same problem the red light comes on and thats it! cannot go onto boot mode or anything doesnt even show anything on the screen this happened after I flashed to 1.98

just load the factroy bin it will work

it wont let you even load the factory bin on it

Call captive works and give them the serial number.I think you will find out you have a clone.know a guy that had the same problem,he called and found out that he had a clone.as far as I can tell there is no difference buy looking at the outside of the box.He sent me pics of his clone from every angle.He did not open it so I dont know if there is any difference inside.

These stb's are very robust...you should be able to load back to it.

I have had mine experience the same type issues you describe...however I have always been able to get the box loaded without the serial cable.

Try rebooting the box from the rear rocker switch....then start pressing the "Menu" button on the remote repeatedly until the menu pops up...then you can load via the usb.It might take a few reboots for you to get control of it tho.

Like I said...I have had a few probs with mine but have never had to load via serial cable.Keep trying...you will prevail I believe.

Hows about putting it in to standby mode, power on the switch on the back and use the remote power button, will show --:-- . that works with 600p,so why wouldn't it work with 700s

Different boxes boot up different ways including both "boot mode" and "standby mode" which is the mode that you describe.
When your box has serious issues it might only be possible to load in "boot mode" which is what most of these members need to fix their boxes.

I'm sorry I confused you somehow...the factory bin is located here...hxxp://forums.dsstester.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=136538

After the factory bin...the current bin....and input your serial #'s if it asks for them.Or after the factory bin....load the 1.93 bin and do the serial numbers, then the most current bin.

After the factory file goes on you should be able to load via the usb again.

thanks Nitro, i have all software now,
but now i can now i can not get the receiver to go into boot mode
press power botton in front when turn the switch on back on but nothing
only the power led in front comes on.
i am almost sure it is a clone, the last digit in the serial number is scratched off in ird ansl in the box. so when my cousin was programming it the 1st time and asked for serial number he was guessing if it was 8 or 0
