I have read through forums and still dont seem to come up with an answer......I recently purchased a Quad mode JTAG right now I am at a loss as to how to use it.....i think i figured out part of it but i am not sure if I am going down the right road.

My receiver is a 3900 model

I got most of the information i need to write to card but i just dont know best way to get the box number

I would just like to know if anyone can direct me to a site or give me step by step instructions on what to do with this thing. Or if someone has the instructions to share it would be great

I have worked some with the Dave programs and I have both types of systems but the Dish is a new world for me.......im just lost at this point...........help

Use JKeys201 and select the IRD type.

how do i set ird type?

Hook the jtag up, make sure the pins are on the right pads, Sattech has a how to jtag hook up. Then open jkeys and plug the ird in and everything should pop up, box keys, ird, software ver. ect...

The jtag9 file --->jc will tell you which pads if you decide to go with the simple wired on jtag or buffered.

You can also get schematics.

Connect your JTAG to your LPT (printer port) and connect the wire or pins to the proper pads according to reciever type.

Now go in Jkey201 and it should go. If it doesn't check your Jkeys preference and set the LPT address that your computer uses.

And if it doesn't go after messing with the LPT then set Jkeys IRD Model and hit the top detect.

If you read Todds Guide you'll learn how to save the TSOP and some JTAG info

You can also mess with jkeys133, some have had better luck with 133 then 201.

This aint the Jkeys201 I used last week but it should work anyway:D
