I am subbed. If I wanted to test dish and keep my subbed card as safe as possible , What method would be best?

1. straight avr or atmega setup, if that is possible right now?

2. avr and subbed card together?

3. Get another card and program it and keep original card as backup?

4. Or some other method someone might suggest?

My Equipment setup is as follows: 4700 recvr...288-02 card ..and my card has not been out of stream ever for almost 3yrs so possibly locked.?.?....I assume i should back up and lock my tsop also correct? ....... help with pros and cons of each method. I have my box keys using jkeys and i have read several docs and faqs and using subbed card seems to be an option...but Basically I want to keep my sub and keep watching tv if an ECM rolls around...........THANKS in advance for any help or suggestions

Read your Rom3 with Nagra Edit 2 and a D!shnet programmer (3.68 Xtal crystal) and save the image as .bn3 I think.

Make backups of the image and open one with Xcel, you should see your Boxkeys, IRD, CAM numbers.

With that information you can run the Atmega128 card so you can leave your old sub out of the stream.

I believe your Rom3 card is Open since you claim it has been out of the reciever for 3 years!
