To Recover from the dreaded E-01 ERROR simply follow my RS232 loading instructions But REPEAT step 4 and 5 Twice BEFORE moving on to step 6

NOTE
ALWAYS Unplug your receiver BEFORE disconnecting Or Connecting your Coax cable Or RCA cables !! FAILURE to do so WILL damage your receiver !

1) Download and unzip both the (Coolsat _7100_ Fac_ V114) and NorW latest release

2) Connect your receiver to your computer using your RS232 cable.

3) Open your Coolsat 7100 Loader click the file button and load your Coolsat_7100_Fac_V114 into your loader

4) Timing is everything on this step ! Put your mouse over the download button and as soon as you turn the Back power switch on your receiver ON click the download button
If your to slow it will NOT load and you must Repeat this step !

5)When your receiver reboots itself Or you see this ---- turn off the back switch and reconnect it to your TV then click Menu on your remote and then go to Installation screen and select SYSTEM RECOVERY and click YES to (System restore to Factory Default) when the factory reset is finished set the Language of choice and then set your time zone. After setting the time zone the receiver will ask if you want to Auto detect your satellites and switch settings. Say NO at this time !

6)Now Repeat the First 5 steps to load the Latest Coolsat7100_NorW-bin !
BUT this time say YES to Auto Detect and it will auto set your LNB type and switch settings and then scan All the satellites your pointed at !

NOTE
ALWAYS Unplug your receiver BEFORE disconnecting Or Connecting your Coax cable Or RCA cables !! FAILURE to do so WILL damage your receiver !

I am afraid so....you need the cable to load the factory file....after that, you can do the rest via USB...check ebay...you can pick up a cable there for less than $5...that is where I got mine....be sure you get a straight cable....not a NULL MODEM cable

You do not need a RS232 cable. That is the purpose of The USB stick!!!
All you need is the USB stick to do everything.

Copy the unzipped "loader" file onto your stick.
Copy the unzipped "114 Factory Flash" onto your stick
Copy the most recent unzipped 7100 file to your USB stick

Before you do anything trying to load the latest file, Go to "Menu"
Arrow over to "System Recovery" and press "OK"
Press "0000"
Press OK for the high-lighted "system restore to factory default"
Select "YES" and press OK

Now your system is back to the Flashed configuration in which it was shipped.

Now you can proceed to using your USB stick.

You will now get a "Language screen" with a default of 'English'
If you have the Loader installed on the stick along with the "114 Factory Flash" , plug it into the front USB port on the 7100.(behind the little door on the right side).

When you plug in the stick it will pop up the two files on it, (the loader does not appear).

The default screen will show 114 and the latest File, with 114 on top.

Press the 'RED' button (1 of 4 in the middle of the remote) for download. This will restore the box to full Factory-prepped condition.

After the download finishes, the box goes into standby mode with "---------" on the front panel display.

Turn the box OFF with the power switch on the back, and remove the USB stick.

Turn the power switch back on. Press the power on button on the remote, and you should see the 'Language' screen again.

Plug the USB stick back in and arrow down to the latest BIN file. Press the 'RED' button (the far left 1 of 4) in the middle of the remote to download the latest BIN. After the download finishes, you should see the "----------" on the front panel display.

Turn power switch off at the back of the box, and remove the USB stick.

Turn the power switch on from the back of the box. Using the remote, press the 'Power' button at the top of the remote.

Now press 'OK' for English, arrow down to select 'North America'. Press 'OK'.

After the time zone is selected it will prompt you for "Would you do AUTO Detect ?"

The default is set to 'YES'. Press 'OK'. It will now detect your switch/Dish/LNB settings and tell you which sat/sats are detected for your particular setup. Press 'OK' and channel search begins.

This is where my expertise ends. I have two separate DTV dishes, each with a dual LNB. One pointed at 119 and the other at 110. I use a Channel Master 4X4 Multiswitch that supports up to four receivers.

I am not familiar with Dish 500 dishes nor their LNBs.

Hope this helps though with your USB stick though.

I did not think you could use the USB with the E--01 error...that is why I said you would need the straight cable to load the factory file....after that you can get to the menus and use the USB to load the other file(s)....

Do you have the loader program for your receiver...it should be in the files section, if not in the stickies here.....If you can't find it, let me know and i will see if I can help you get it...

When you open the loader, be sure it is set for software and not channels....
