View Full Version : I Need Help Loading 8100HD
Hillbilly42 08-26-2008, 01:02 PM My box is down and I cannot get it fixed with the usb flashdrive. I have the CSUpgrade V3.01 loader and the clear bin file. But when I try to load the file it does nothing. When I push the start button to load the file and flip the switch on the back of the reciever, it does nothing. What am I doing wrong? I have it in download mode, and type Temu. If anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated.:(

kenmoresp 09-25-2008, 01:29 PM Yep...you will need the proper drivers for the USB to serial cable for it to work right...If you don't have a disk with the drivers, you may need to buy another converter cable, and be sure it comes with the drivers....if you need to know where to get one at a decent price, let me know....
blunt72 09-25-2008, 01:41 PM yeah
kenmoresp 09-25-2008, 02:17 PM Yeah?....yeah what?...you confused me...you need to know where to get a cable?
eskippyca 09-25-2008, 03:11 PM i can find cables all over the place but the trick is to find one that has a driver with it ,, i have 2 of them here ,, but no driver ,, now i know that if you can buy it you can find it on line so i am sure i will be able to find a driver on line ,,,,, won't i ??
eskippyca 09-25-2008, 03:39 PM ok well i found a link to a page with a pic of my usb - serial cable and it says the drivers are there but i not sure ,, it only looks like a driver remover ,,http://www.advancedsoftware.biz/stuff/usb232/
kenmoresp 09-25-2008, 03:47 PM Sure....radio shack has them, best buy has them...but they are expensive..I ordered mine from tigerdirect.com cost $15 and works great
eskippyca 09-25-2008, 04:41 PM ok so i ran out to future shop and bought one for 50 buxs ,, but it came with a driver and still nothing ,, i load the file start it and turn my box on ,, then i have sat there for 5 mins each of the 10 times i have tried it and watched dust settle ,my box comes on and says Loader v109,, then goes to a blank ,,, then displays the date and time ,, well 01/01/00;00 oh i need help ,,,,,,,
kenmoresp 09-25-2008, 04:49 PM Did you activate the three ocx files? It will not work if you don't
eskippyca 09-25-2008, 06:11 PM will the loader work even if i don't activate the files ?
"How to apply the OCX file: Copy and paste the following command into command window (by typing ‘cmd’ on run) Copy the command line below (one line at a time) and paste in command window by clicking the “right mouse button” and press enter"
now is this what you mean buy activating the files cause this is what i did ,, and i had to use the text files versions of -->
REGSVR32 CWINDOWS\SYSTEM32\COMCTL32.OCX
REGSVR32 CWINDOWS\SYSTEM32\COMDLG32.OCX
REGSVR32 CWINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSCOMM32.OCX
for some reason the ones you posted wouldn't take ,,
eskippyca 09-25-2008, 06:26 PM i was just reading that post with the directions and it says that i must factory reset the recieveer before i start ,, i'm not sure how to do this since my buddy put a bad file on it and it's froze ,,,
kenmoresp 09-26-2008, 01:09 AM No the loader will not work with out activating these files....
And loading the clear software file to it should free it back up...just have to be sure to have the receiver turned off with the switch in back, start the loader sending the file to the receiver, then turn the receiver back on...
chisun 09-28-2008, 06:48 PM I tried exactly as directed above.
1. get the loader
2. activate the 3 ocx files
3 plug in the null cable.
4. turn the cs on
5. run the cs3.01 loader
6. browse and open the clear file.
7. Hit start.
Nothing happen. my cs8100 said "loader v112" and stop there.
That's how it was before too. looks like it froze there.
there's no way i could do a factory reset, cuz i can't get past this point.
The screen said loading sw*** for like 2 seconds and the tv went black
just it's in standby mode.
Please help =(
kenmoresp 09-29-2008, 04:35 AM This may help with the problem...when I do it, I turn the receiver OFF with the switch in back, connect the cable, open the loader, put the file in the loader, press start on the loader, turn the receiver back ON, wait for it to load the file....loading the file isn't quick, be patient...when it is finished and the receiver reboots itself, turn it back OFF with the switch in back. Close the loader and reopen it....repeat the steps for all files you want to load to it.....I have done this on several receivers folks have sent to me because they couldn't figure it out, and it works for me everytime....and then you can use the usb to load....
chisun 10-01-2008, 03:35 PM I tried, but my loader didn't do anything the progress bar did not move. My tv screen went off 3-4 seconds after the it said "loading sw" "please wait" "loader v1.12". I tried turning it on before and after and still do the very same thing. I tried to wait longer before turning the cs8100 a little longer each time and still nothing. Sorry, I feel like i'm the dumbest person on earth, but I tried that's how smart i am. I can't do any better. Name me anything, but please help. I tried null cable, usb (with) driver; I tried more than 50+ time with trying to delay time and advance time but I still didn't go anywhere. Or unless it's the null cable, but it worked for my cs 6000
Thanks and apprieated for all info.
