I keep getting the same error: Satellite not founded.

I just purchased the CS7100, i loaded CS7100-114 & CS7100NORW_V179_20080818, I followed the instructions, still no luck.

I currently have Directv service, when i plug my directv up i can get channels, but when i hook it to my coolsat it does not work.

Any help or if you can point me to where i need to go, it would be greatly appreciated.

you cant get Directv with FTA.

I subscribe to Direct TV, I would like to stop using their service and use my CS7100 - do u think that by having a Direct Tv satellite, is that stopping me from using the cs7100

Metwin, Having DTV is not stopping you from using the CS7100, but you cannot use the DTV dish and lnb unless you move the dish.
FTA does not always work. You might want to get another dish and lnb(s) such as a dish 500.

Your direct tv dish is aimed at direct tv satellites. As mrgmc said you cant use your coolsat to watch direct tv sats. You can most likely use the dtv dish to get a satellite with your stb but it is probably not going to be an ideal choice. You would have to re-aim your dish to a sat that is compatible with fta. If you posted what type of dish/lnbs you have you could get more help with what sats you could use it with and how to make it work with your stb.

This sounds like a phase 3 dish and it would be about useless for the Coolsat.

Naaahh, not useless. I chopped the arm off a DTV dish and mounted a Dish500 yoke and LNB, and pointed it at Nimiq 1 @ 91. I don't think it ever lined up on 82, but I never really tried too hard. I don't think I'd use it for my main dish, but it's not useless. Well, maybe just a little useless.

I noticed a discussion about useless dishes here and was wondering if my dish is useless for FTA. Bell ExpressVu with what looks like a single lnb?

I'm pretty familair with the box but when I tryed udating the dongle on my computer com(1) I used the update program just like it said but when I hit download nothing happens. Is there a different program I need to use? I just want to configure my ip and get it running on my Linksys wireless router WRT54GS. Any help would be greatly appreciated :blink:
