Hello Everyone,
I'm new with CS7100 micro PVR too (in fact, I just got the receiver yesterday). I've loaded the latest bin file (ver.177) to the receiver. I wasn't able to scan any bird. The S shows 87%... the Q shows 0%. I wonder if I have to re-align the dish or something is wrong with my antenna setup?????
Also, I wasn't able to exit the 'menu' window... with my Coolsat 5000, if I keep pressing on the 'Exit' button, the program will allow me to exit the menu. Is there something wrong with my receiver after loading the latest bin file (177)? Please help me to understand the system better. Thanks

gotta get your signal happening. Are you going through a switch? If u are, bypass it and go direct to make sure u have a good connection.
If you can't exit out, you accidentally hit standby stb. (top of remote) I've done that several times.
177 is up and running.
Good luck, I'll check later to see if I can help u get up.

Ianleafan,
Thanks for your help. My receiver is connected directly to to dish now without going through a switch... I still don't get a good 'Q' signal ('S' signal is around 87%). The combination of dish and lnb that I'm using now was good for the Coolsat 5000 before... I wondered if a 'bad' lnb might lead to the problem of 'no' Q signal???
I've tried to press on the STB button several times and still could not exit out (the front pannel always displayed 'MAIN')... should I reload the factory setup bin? If yes, do you know where can I find a correct file? Look forward to hearing from you soon. Again, thanks a lot for your helps.

Sorry to leave u hanging for 2 days. Been busy.
Lets solve your problem my friend.
You say u have a coolsat 5000 there. Always turn back switch off, then unplug your unit before any cables go in and out of receiver. (apparently u can fry a receiver if the power is on)
Try to hook your 5000 up agian, see if the signal works.
If everything seems okay. power down and put you 7000 on again.
Do a factory set (through options),, then power down , front then back, wait 30 seconds or so.
Turn unit on, go to dish setup, play with your settings
If that does'nt work we'll try something else.
Don't worry, you will get it, just don't give up.
I''l check for response later ( i won't wait 2 days this time lol)

Thanks my friend. I'll try all the steps when I get home today. However, last time I've plugged back the Coolsat 5000 (last week), the signals seemed to be very strong to me... both signaaals were up about 97%. I'll definitely check again to see if anything changed last couple days. I'll let you know as soon as I find out anything. Thanks a lot for your helps so far.
