View Full Version : What makes G2 better than ATMEGA hjm357 10-09-2002, 07:19 AM Could anyone please explain what exactly makes G2 better than ATMEGA and is it worth the money. Thanks mooneyrocket 10-27-2002, 03:41 PM It appears no one responded to your query so I'll take a shot. G2 is a ROM3 that is programmed by a support group and sold as a locked code. It is nearly plug and play. The atmega is a program it yourself device but Charley seems to be able to detect them quite easily so are subject to ECMing alot. Any method is subject to ECM even the G2. Different people like different types of testing. None is inherently better than the other but some are working better than others at different times. AngryZac 10-28-2002, 05:33 AM What are the chances that dish would be able to optain that list of cards and shut them all down, and/or press charges against all buyers? mooneyrocket 10-28-2002, 01:39 PM Well as far as the list is concerned I suppose that could happen, but cards are bought and sold among private parties. I bought two locally and resold them. Just buying a G2 card I don't believe is illegal. Its what you personally do with it that counts. A better target is the web sites as evidenced by the most recent suit from Direct TV. As far as targeting the cards based on who bought them, that isn't possible without knowing the receiver address that it is being used in. If you have serious concerns about becoming a tester you should consider a sub. No one is advocating stealing or breaking the law. DC 10-30-2002, 11:05 PM ok the g2 is a privately coded plastic card that doesnt have a backdoor the good thing is that it can not be looped nor locked. the g2 takes a update from the software (required internet contection) the bad points in my opinion its over priced, even though it will emulate the rom10 well i think freeware will be out for rom10 before the update for g2 is out, let me back track i know a person that is putting 3m's on cards now. but anyway getting back to your questions all devices are subject of being targeted it doesnt matter what they are as of now the rom3's are doing really well with private 3m's on them... and some freeware scripts.. mooney excellent post If you have serious concerns about becoming a tester you should consider a sub. No one is advocating stealing or breaking the law. AngryZac 10-31-2002, 08:59 AM You know, I know no one is advicating stealing or breaking the law (just informing on all the steps to do so), but I do think you could get charges pressed againsts you if you were on a list of buyers for the G2. Think of the letters that Dave sent out, he's sending to ppl who bought from sites that seemed to promote stealing of signals, but they bought completely legal products. If you're on a list for buying a G2 and Charlie sends you a letter try explaining what you were going to and or did with that card other than used it for it's purpose? The card is only good for stealing signals, otherwise you could use a plastic sware for any of it's other uses, I don't see many people paying 150 dollars for a CC. So I don't know, maybe I'm being paranoid in worrying about buying a G2 online, but I don't think that paranoia is unwarented. Just thought I'd tell other ppl there is reason to worry sometimes. I mean heck, if you're going to break the law you might as well try to be as catious as possible while doing it right? mooneyrocket 11-01-2002, 07:00 PM Well, anyone can send out intimidating letters and so what. To enter your home takes a search warrant. I don't think I have to answer to Charlie. I have a sub and if you come to my home that is what you will find, so whats to fear. As long as you abide by the law you are OK. DC 11-01-2002, 07:19 PM bro if you feel nagative by the g2 or even testing then sub, we are not here to answer legal questions about the law, if you feel testing is illegal then move on, noone here is pushing you to buy or do anything, we are just merely trying to answer your questions if you want to test thats another thing if not move on... AngryZac 11-01-2002, 10:28 PM Hey, I'm sorry if I offended, I didn't mean to. I was just saying that it doesn't hurt to be safe, and buying something that is illegal online is not safe. I'm not dissing your ways, or trying to say something is wrong or stupid, just doesn't seem safe to me, thought maybe I'd share my thoughts. DC 11-01-2002, 10:40 PM thoughts well concidered friend we were just merely trying to help you out, thats all but in the long run theres nothening legal about testing anything of dss hardware.. only legal ay is to sub and leave things alone DC 11-01-2002, 10:40 PM if you dont want to buy online e-mail me.. i know someone that will set you up.. |
