There was an article in the Wall Street Journal on Cindy McCain, John's wife. All we see is this attractive woman standing beside John. It is informative and surprising how talented and involved with world problems she is. This is a summary of the article.

She graduated from Southern Cal and was a special-needs teacher.

After her Dad died she became involved with his beer distributing firm and is now the chairwoman. Sales have doubled since she has taken over from her father.

They have a marriage prenuptial agreement, her assets remain separate.

She is involved around the world clearing land mines - travels to the countries on a detonation team and served on their board.

They have a 19 year old serving in Iraq , another son in the Naval Academy , a daughter recently graduated from Columbia Univ. , an adopted daughter in high school, and a son who is the finance guy at the beer firm.

Raised kids in Phoenix , AZ rather than Washington DC. (better atmosphere) He commuted.

In 1991, Mrs. McCain came across a girl in an orphanage in Bangladesh Mother Teresa implored Mrs. McCain to take the baby with severe cleft palate. She did so without first telling her husband. The couple adopted the girl who has had a dozen operations to repair her cleft palate and other medical problems.

They have a Family Foundation for children's causes.

She's active with "Halo Trust" - to clear land mines, provide water and food in war ravaged and developing countries.

She will join an overseas mission of "Operation Smile", a charity for corrective surgery on children's faces.

She has had two back surgeries and became addicted to pain killers. She talks openly about it which she says is part of the recovery process.

It is surprising the media is so quiet about her attributes. She sounds more capable than Hillary or Obama. We would really get two for the price of one. A person with business and international experience. John did work for the firm for awhile when he left the Navy. She, however, has the real business experience. Very interesting.

Sounds as if there is more to the intelligent decision of which way the Presidential Election should swing. Just my opinion.

This makes Mrs. McBusch sound as tho she should run for the office. Although John would be might pick IF I thought another republican should lead our country but after 8 years of a repbulican, wich history will record as the worst president to ever hold office, I wish Mrs.MCcain had been in charge as its obvious she knows how to make money, really cares about the poor
(I wonder if she has done the same for a poor american child w/ a cleft palate) in other countries and she has a cause(the mines). SO, if John should get elected, I hope she turns her efforts towards the poor, homeless, our vets (who are commiting sucicide at the highest % on record-very sad) and health care for all of us, especially the childeren w/ defects and on and on. Just my opinion as I do respect yous BUT wont vote for John no matter what Mrs. John is accomplishing. regards, TonytheTiger

She also stole from her employer to feed her drug addiction.

There's nothing in that essay to support the idea that she's more qualified to be president than Obama or Clinton.

She's definitely hot. And she might be a very nice lady. But there are a million hot, nice ladies in this country. :)

She also stole from her employer to feed her drug addiction.

well, actually it was the American Voluntary Medical Team, a relief organization that she founded to aid Third World countries. and she admited that she had taken pills from the organization to support her addiction. i would not nessaraly put that in the catagory of stealing from her employer....kinda like i gave you 100 bags of potatos but i took 10 of them back....

All of these things say look good on her, but it doesn't mean she is fit to be a "first lady" or that her husband is fit to be president. There are plenty of people who give and donate so much in this world. I also agree with tvstonythetiger that the next President should definitely focus more on problems without our own country than the current administration. She helped one child in another country, that's great, but what about the children born with birth defects in this one?

That's pretty generous.

I'll concede that "employer" might not have been totally accurate. However, she took drugs that did not belong her (definition of stealing) to feed her drug habit.

Taking your critique to heart, I'll correct my original comment. She stole from a charitable organization to feed her drug addiction. (Although I'm not sure stealing from a charity is any better than stealing from an employer...... ;) )

I just mean that she chose one random child in another country to help when there are so many in this country that need help. We spend so much money trying to fix problems in other countries while our own falls into recession.

let's get it right ....she took something from HER own charity...i don't know if it's considered steeling if you already own it....

with that statement, I 100% agree we should take care of our own first.
the politicians worry to much about what the world thinks about us.

as to her helping a child from another country, why do couples go to russia and china to get kids when they could adopt one here??

She did because she could , you going to fault her for that? their is a special bond between a woman and a child we men don't get it most of the time:D

she started the charity, she funded the charity, split hairs if you want, but tell us how much you've done for others if you will:unsure:

"Her" charity? Do you really believe that someone who starts up a charitable organization personally owns all the assets of that charity? No, it's not stealing if you take something you already own. She didn't take drugs that she owned, she took drugs that the charity owned.

Not only that, but then she fired the guy who discovered her theft! :o

she started the charity, she funded the charity, split hairs if you want, but tell us how much you've done for others if you will:unsure:

Nah, it's irrelevant. I could be the most miserly person in the world or I could be the most generous. It wouldn't change what Cindy McCain did.

This is a great thread. "Who is Cindy McCain" indeed! I didn't know much about her until my curiosity was sparked by this thread. Did you know she also had an affair with a married man? Not something the "family values" Republicans probably want disclosed.

Maybe this chain email that was pasted here was actually started by the Democrats to get people to discover the truth...... Conspiracy? Hmmmmmmm...........

muskrat, what does some anti-Obama propaganda website have to do with Cindy McCain's drug abuse and theft problem?

I wonder if goldmine will complain about this as hijacking a thread?

Probably not, as it aligns with his own opinion.
