View Full Version : CW700s This may be a dumb question!
financeguy1 04-25-2008, 09:43 PM Just installed a new cw700s, everything ok as far as strength and quality for 110. Scanned channels and great... can watch NASA. Now, loaded latest bin with usb. It appears to load properly, but does not prompt for reboot.
Also, have searched every crevice on every menu for auto roll, cannot find anywhere. Also, no response from F1 000. It does not appear to respond to this command, at least nothing appears on the screen indicating that a patch has been enabled. I know I have probably missed a step somewhere, but I have read through these forums, and do not seem to have anyone sharing these same specific problems. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Great site btw!
topcover 04-25-2008, 10:01 PM If its a new receiver you must factory default, after default use red audio button to scan.
financeguy1 04-26-2008, 04:27 AM thanks.. but have tried that step several times. no change in the original issues mentioned.

The latest bin is CW700SV1.60_2008_04_16
Unzip and load the file and file only to the USB stick..insert the stick and press USB button on remote...you should now see CW700SV1.60_2008_04_16 click OK..When it asks FTA channels only..select NO.
Once it ends it will ask if you wish to reboot..select yes. after reboot press F1 000 and wait for the keys to roll.
One other thing..NASA channel is not on 110..it is on 119 so that is where your dish is pointed.
jd1122 04-26-2008, 06:35 AM follow woofy's advice and you will be up and running in no time:yes:
financeguy1 04-26-2008, 05:41 PM Thanks guys. Worked like a charm.
Figured out what I was doing wrong before in the process.
One more question... If my cw receiver is set to 110, and the
channels I am viewing ie.. Nasa.. are actually on 119, should
I do something different in my satellite selection and do another
scan?
Or should I repoint the dish?
Thanks again guys.

Depends if you really want 110..then adjust your dish.
If I had to choose I would pick 119 there are more of a variety of channels...So in your captiveworks I would delete the channels..then autoscan 119. once your finished turn to channel 239 and leave it there for 5-10 minutes an you will have a 7 day EPG.
The best of both worlds would be to pick up a Dish 500 so you can receive both 119 and 110 at the same time.
Have fun:)
og_77 05-05-2008, 04:38 PM I am having that problem. I am not being asked to reboot. What did u figure out in your process?
financeguy1 05-07-2008, 04:46 PM I was using the "upload" command off the remote, instead of pressing "ok". It would appear to have loaded something, but in fact was not. All was fine after that, and each time after with the new bins.
Hey.. I'm new... but I can still learn.
(with a little help from the great support on this site!)

You are on the right track, just keep your settings written doun for future use. Also
I saw some strange signal fluxuation on Bird Eco-119.0W and 110W, at 1:25 pm signal going down to zero than up for about 3 minutes, but all is ok now
if this helps dont:hat: forget to click on the Gold ribbon under my name for points.

if you are using a DiseqC then make sure you have correct port configured for each bird.
Port #1 - Echo 7 (119W)
Port #2 - Echo 6,8 (110W)
These configurations are located within Antenna Settings page.
