View Full Version : Michael Moore thread
LILMAFIA 04-22-2008, 03:01 PM i lost respect for this idiot a long time ago...not just today. but i will add that if i had to choose between clinton or obama and there were no other choices i would choose clinton over a racest, inexperienced, non-patriotic, hate mongrel like obama. i really have a problem with him not wearing a flag on his lapel...and not putting his hand on his chest when the national anthem is being played.
I took your advise and opened my own thread and since you claim I hijacked your thread lets be clear about one thing I did nothing of the sort, I may be a pirate but not a hijacker :p you say you did not make refrence to racism (read your own post) regardless of which by the time I posted the thread was way off topic but pay attention I did stay on the topic of BS and flag pins
Rowsdower 04-22-2008, 03:07 PM I don't see why people have such a problem with Michael Moore. He's not unbiased? So what? He's not a journalist. He's as unbiased as Rush Limbaugh or any of the people on Faux News. ;)
And why is anyone calling Obama a mongrel? Is he a dog or something?

you and everybody else are entitled to your opinion. and i am entitled to mine. he went to a church for more than 20 yrs that teaches hate and racist views. i was made to go to church when i was a child and i resented that. when i got old enough to make my own decisions i didn't go to church at all for a number of years. when i did choose a church i went to many...if their teachings were against what my beliefs were... my search continued. ...meaning that you don't attend a church that teaches things that are not in line with your beliefs. that speaks for itself. so with that said YES i beleive Obama IS in fact a racist. he, you, or anybody else can candy coat it all you want...fact is he went to that church because they were in line with his train of thought!

justeric1agn 04-22-2008, 03:31 PM I looked him up and still don't know who micheal moore is.
I really don't have a choice so I am staying out of this voteing. I think we are in trouble no matter who wins.
Filmmaker Moore backs Obama, blasts Clinton's actions and words as 'disgusting'
Email|Link|Comments (25) Posted by Foon Rhee, deputy national political editor April 22, 2008 10:50 AM
Self-styled populist filmmaker Michael Moore is urging Pennsylvania voters to back Barack Obama today, saying that Hillary Clinton's campaign tactics have "gone from being merely disappointing to downright disgusting."
Moore, an Oscar winner whose documentaries have tackled subjects including guns and General Motors, said last week's debate was "the final straw" of Clinton and former President Bill Clinton playing "this game of appealing to the worst side of white people."
"How sad that I would ever have to write those words about you," he says in an open letter posted on his website Monday. "You have devoted your life to good causes and good deeds. And now to throw it all away for an office you can't win unless you smear the black man so much that the superdelegates cry 'Uncle (Tom)' and give it all to you."
Moore has far kinder words for Obama, but more so for the grassroots activism that his candidacy has energized. "What we are witnessing is not just a candidate but a profound, massive public movement for change," Moore writes. "My endorsement is more for Obama The Movement than it is for Obama the candidate."

I go to church (when I can) does that make me a bad Catholic? regardless but what the preacher is preaching in his sermon does not make any decisions for me nor does it represent me or what I am about

if you do not care for your country which is basicly what you are saying then you need to move to somewhere you can get excited about.
I go to church (when I can) does that make me a bad Catholic? regardless but what the preacher is preaching in his sermon does not make any decisions for me nor does it represent me or what I am about
then why go in the first place? kinda defeats the purpose don't it?

LOL ...tell us papa what do you think about obama?;)
Hondo 04-22-2008, 04:50 PM A couple stray thoughts here...
LILMAFIA: You and your family are EXACTLY what patriotic Americans are supposed to be. Your family came here looking for a better life and when the chips were down three straight generations put their lives on the line in service to their country. To you, your dad and your grandfather...Thank you. That kind of sacrifice gets my respect regardless of what polictical persuiasion you may have. Actually...it's the reason we get to express it in the first place.
Being a patriot isn't so much in what you say as what you do. Look how many faded yellow ribbons on cars there are. How many of those folks still stop every day and give thanks? Wearing (or not wearing) a flag pin doesn't in and of itself make or break you as a patriot. Hell I've even forgotten to put mine on my lapel on occasion. (Which pisses me off but hey, shit happens). As far as Obama goes it's a number of little things that lead people to question his actions and what he really believes in. Look at the crap that was thrown at Clinton and Bush for their records during the Vietnam War. Perhaps the contrast is greater this time because NOBODY can question McCain on his sacrifices during the war. Personally I don't trust Clinton or Obama. It has nothign to do with race at all. Nothing pisses me off more than when criticism of a minority is called racist. It's CRITICISM. Period.
When we get into political discussions it's very hard sometimes not to have it turn personal. Back in '68 a guy named Tim Craft wrote this during the siege of Khe Sanh:
For those that will fight for it...FREEDOM ...has a flavor the protected shall never know."
I suspect that a lot of the strong feelings some of us have here are because the people involved know EXACTLY what Tim was saying. It's just one of those things you have to live to understand completely.
The big thing I'd like everyone to remember is that we are ALL on the same team here. Even when we disagree.
bluebaby 04-22-2008, 04:59 PM sums it up perfectly....

Change?myself I don't want that kind of change:no:
he spent to many years with his church to not have liked it. IE he liked it till it was'nt helping him any longer. Finally put a lapel flag pin on when it would help him, don't put his hand over his heart, ain't got a heart Half breed Sumbitch ain't got nothing I want:no: does that tell ya how I feel?? I hope so:yes:  :p

chuck 04-22-2008, 06:08 PM Excellent picture posted above...neither Clinton nor Obama have impressed me at all. All we will miss is their back and forth bashing of each other.
Its going to be an easy decision when election day arrives.
goldmine1 04-22-2008, 06:19 PM Its going to be an easy decision when election day arrives.

beehive21 04-22-2008, 07:01 PM It has nothign to do with race at all. Nothing pisses me off more than when criticism of a minority is called racist. It's CRITICISM. Period.
When it's 1 person's duty here to constantly bring anti-Obama e-mail copy/paste propaganda, it becomes more than criticism. One can have an opinion, that's fine. When there is nonstop posting of unsubstantiated nonsense, it becomes bigotry. A bigot is not necessarily a racist. Bigotry doesn't have to involve a person, it can involve other things, cultures, etc...it just happens that this is directed towards a minority.
Has anyone read why Obama doesn't place his hand over his heart for the anthem?
As for whether this incident was an "accident," whether Senator Obama habitually declines to perform the hand-over-heart gesture, or whether there's any particular meaning to the (non-)action, an Obama campaign spokesperson responded: "Sometimes he does, sometimes he doesn't. In no way was he making any sort of statement, and any suggestion to the contrary is ridiculous." The senator himself said that "My grandfather taught me when I was 2. During the Pledge of Allegiance, you put your hand over your heart. During the national anthem, you sing."Grandpa must've been a racist hate-mongrel for bringing up Obama this way. I had to read it twice...thought it said "America, and it's flag, suck!! Do not place your hand on your heart!!" Not exactly what I was expecting.
Anne Garside must also be a racist hate-mongrel for saying what she said about it...btw, she takes care of the original Star Spangled Banner score for the Maryland Historical Society...
Modern custom does not require a hand over the heart, said Anne Garside, director of communication for the Maryland Historical Society, home of the original manuscript of The Star-Spangled Banner.
"I think the bottom line is that you show respect with your demeanor," she said. "Whether you put your hand over your heart, hold your hat at shoulder level or waist level, is really in this day and age irrelevant."
What a b!tch!!! Unbelievable!!! To think that the keeper of the Star Spangled Banner is so unpatriotic
Does it matter that there are pics of him holding his hand over his heart during the anthem? They're out there. Maybe his arms hurt the day of the unpatriotic photo? You don't know. I don't know. FACT - what we do know is that he has been seen before holding his hand on his heart during the national anthem. FACT - we do know that there's video of him holding hand over heart, during the Pledge of Allegiance (to the FLAG, remember?) So, to state that he's unpatriotic over one picture, of which we don't know the circumstances, is plain bigotry, not criticism.
Thank you LILMAFIA for speaking out...it gets lonely here outside of the propaganda train.
And I'm still waiting for goldmine's thread to be reopened, thanks :)

Sorry, folks, but I wonder if this election has already been arranged, and the winner is known to a small group of people.
While I still think it is very important to vote, please remember that the voters Do Not elect the president. The Electoral College elects the President.

psychotic 04-22-2008, 07:24 PM These canidates are under a microscope, and Obama has done plenty to draw attention to himself, The pics of him not doing a patriotic gesture does NOT sit well in the stomachs of True Americans. Hillary also does alot of beating around the bush about her past as well. Pictures are worth a 1000words and very hard to state that it was misunderstood. I feel they both LOVE to put blame on others and if there pasts are blueprints for their future, they WILL make mistakes and blame it on someone else. They have not said or done anything to win me over on them, so I will think heavily about them FIRST! just my opinion!
justeric1agn 04-22-2008, 07:26 PM so i stayed tuned to see what happens next.
Hondo 04-22-2008, 07:26 PM Papa is dead-on. And Goldmine is pretty far from "non-stop Obama-bashing". It may appear that way to you but perhaps because he is your candidate you might be overly sensitive to it.
Let's face it...there's three of them in the race. The discussions are going to center on those three. When any of them has something come up it's going to be discussed. And Obama supporter or not you have to admit he's had a TERRIBLE six weeks with things coming out. To not expect that to be discussed is rather short-sighted. When Hillary made her Bosnia gaffe it was brought up. If McCain says or does something stupid I would expect it to be discussed as well.
I've yet to see anything I consider out of line. As long as decorum can be maintained and these issues discussed in an adult, rational and somewhat dispassionate manner maybe all of us can learn something and make a more informed voting decision.

eddiemiller 04-22-2008, 08:24 PM it does not matter she CAN NOT beat Obama at this point , she would have to get 65 % of the vote in the remaining 9 states , for one that Def not gonna happen in NC & most likely he takes Indiana 2 , remember this is about delegates and before tonight hes up by 162 , with a 60/40 vote split , he's still at about 133 over her & 2 weeks from now he will still have the same amount ( because its proportional delegates , not winner take all ) This Race is already over but sum of you just can see or grasp that yet but you will in 2 weeks win Obama's hand is raised in Victory & in Nov , he's running against A guy who doesn't even have Secret service protection , because he's old & Old news but lest not take my word for it , just watch it playout !

Rowsdower 04-22-2008, 08:42 PM The pics of him not doing a patriotic gesture does NOT sit well in the stomachs of True Americans.
I'm a True American and those pics don't bother me in the least. :)
imlost 04-22-2008, 08:43 PM DAYUMMMM, cant we all just get along??? Lets all just agree to disagree..(I still say we charge admission to this thread tho..$5 per post) Hell its all a matter of OPINION..(well and some facts) So lets all step back...Take a deep breath...And have a  on me..

Rowsdower 04-22-2008, 08:48 PM Don't sound like it to me:no:
Sorry for your misperception. :)
Rowsdower 04-22-2008, 08:49 PM have you seen a doctor about that?
Nope. I think most "True Americans" are more bothered by the economy and the war than those pictures. :)
mlew2 04-22-2008, 08:50 PM I'm a True American and those pics don't bother me in the least. :)
I'm not American and the one of Obama standing with his hands hanging down and the other with their hand over their heart BOTHERED me and like I said I am not American
Rowsdower 04-22-2008, 08:53 PM I'm not American and the one of Obama standing with his hands hanging down and the other with their hand over their heart BOTHERED me and like I said I am not American

papa J 04-22-2008, 08:58 PM Sorry for your misperception. :)
Mine??
not likely
goldmine1 04-22-2008, 08:59 PM Nope. I think most "True Americans" are more bothered by the economy and the war than those pictures. :)
and what do you suggest we do about these things?
Rowsdower 04-22-2008, 09:04 PM Mine??
Sure. You think I'm not a "True American." You're wrong. That's the misperception.
My point was that psychotic doesn't speak for all "True Americans." Of course, it could be argued that who is and who isn't a "True American" is simply an opinion. In that case, I guess I'm lucky that you don't get to make that determination. :)
beehive21 04-22-2008, 09:04 PM gee, i hope you have about 200 years or so to spare.... I wasn't speaking to you actually.
Papa is dead-on. And Goldmine is pretty far from "non-stop Obama-bashing". It may appear that way to you but perhaps because he is your candidate you might be overly sensitive to it.
Oversensitive, lol Hondo...when i tried to post some facts about other candidates, Republican or Democrat, to try and shift focus to the shortcomings of the others weeks ago, the thread immediately went the way of Obama bashing. I closed the thread. You opened it back up. Goldmine starts a thread about Moore, makes an unrelated post of hatred about Obama, then closes the thread saying myself and LILMAFIA hijacked it and drove it off topic...are you blind? The hijacking was done by goldmine himself. All for the purpose of Obama bashing. The thread needs reopened...only if you have no political bias, of course. I'll hold my breath.

The above thread is a complete lie, email-based propaganda that goldmine1 apparently takes as fact (or else it would have been researched before posting) = bigot.
http://forums.dsstester.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=117060
The above thread, a good read without any negativity towards others needed, couldn't be posted without bringing up Obama the axxhole/jerkoff and a silly little pin = bigot.

It has nothign to do with race at all.
Not about race Hondo? Could've fooled me. Just a general question that popped into his head, I suppose. He's gone this far because he's black, according to goldmine.
http://forums.dsstester.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=112013
MLK is the only holiday by name? Washington isn't a name? Posted hatred towards a black man before researching the truth = bigot.
justeric1agn 04-22-2008, 09:06 PM to slow up the dependency on oil. see the problem is i have a 50 year old book that works on a downdraft carb. it needs and expansion chamber to crazte a way for the carb to burn vapors. they super heat the fuel to turn it into vapors then put it into a chamber to mix the vapor with the air to burn the vapors.
ok this is nothing to do with the moore guy but you ask.
i know i will have a working model in a month or two but it will be a 50 year old engine. besides that i am diong nothing
this has nothing to do wth hybreds they only get 50 miles mpg these flatheads will get 200.
beehive21 04-22-2008, 09:06 PM and what do you suggest we do about these things?
Cutting $450 billion in extra military spending every year to fight "wars" would certainly help the economy :)
Rowsdower 04-22-2008, 09:07 PM and what do you suggest we do about these things?
First, to talk about that would involve going way off topic.
Second, I don't think you really care what I think. ;)
Third, my suggestions are pretty meaningless, in that I don't really have a strong voice in Washington. Sort of like everyone else here. :)
Fourth, those problems are so complex that it would take more than a simple forum posting to give anything more than a shallow, simplistic answer.
papa J 04-22-2008, 09:08 PM Sure. You think I'm not a "True American." You're wrong. That's the misperception.

qrb123 04-22-2008, 10:48 PM Obama seems great for those who have not yet experienced life beyond mommy and daddy taking care of you. I mean after all, he is running on a platform of change, and houses built of puppies, marshmallows, and rainbows. I would love a house made of marshmallows and smiles. Then again I am 30, and have realized these are not realistic construction materials. I understand that my 4 year old supports Obama, she also like the care bears....
Hillary, well anyone who is married, or even believes in marriage, and not the faggot version, can see the problem with her. She belongs in the kitchen, and is a prime example of what happens when you let a woman speak with out being spoken too. I am not sexist. I fully believe women can contribute to society. McCain - he is old and a douche. After Bush he should have no chance at all. Thankfully there is a God, and as a result, McCain with all his flaws will save us all from Obama or more likely Hillary.

Yeah, I am not impressed by him, but he does not want to destroy the nation like Obama and Hillary do.
Bobthetech 04-23-2008, 07:24 AM I guess I don’t understand what the big problem is with people taking sides when it comes to Michael Moore. Whether you like him or whether you think he is the biggest horses A$$ in town, so what? He is who he is and the last time I checked nobody was being forced to sit thru one of his movies. As far as endorsing someone for President, he can endorse anybody he wants to endorse, to include you or me. Personally, I wouldn’t really want him to endorse me, but that’s another issue and I don’t want to get into that right now.
As far as disagreeing is concerned, disagreement in and of itself is not a bad thing. In fact, it does more good than anything else. Take for example, the thread about Social Security. A member posted some information that turned out to be inaccurate. Then another member did some research and posted accurate information from another source.
Now let’s take a minute to sit back and reflect on this. Granted, the member starting the thread got hold of some faulty, or misguided, information. I don’t think for one second that he started the thread to cause a problem or start a fight amongst the members. I think he started the thread because he was trying to inform us of what he perceived to be a real injustice and he wanted all of us to be aware of it.
When another member read it he did some research and discovered the information provided was inaccurate. Being a concerned member, he proceeded to post his findings and in so doing he enlightened everyone who took the time to read the thread. So, what it all boils down to is that by posting some inaccurate information it started members thinking and got them doing some research and in the end we all ended up learning something. So what’s wrong with that? What harm did it do? In the final analysis we ended up learning something. Isn’t that what life is all about? A process of continual learning?
So let's get off Michael Moore's back. If nothing else he has provided us with a means of social intercourse. It's time to put this thread to bed before it gets ugly. Besides, this thread is so far off track you may as well say it has been derailed.
goldmine1 04-23-2008, 08:09 AM Yeah, I am not impressed by him, but he does not want to destroy the nation like Obama and Hillary do.

Great anymore Hallmark greeting cards you would like us to read   , I wanna here his plan for Iraq , not more of these gay 1 liners that solve nothing , I wanna know how staying in Iraq longer is gonna make us safer, I wanna know how you think that your gonna force "democracy" on people who relate to Biblical times , I wanna know where all the God damn money for the oil thats being stolen daily from there ( estimate put @ 1 to 300,000 (wow that really narrows the gap:rolleyes: )gallons a day being stolen) is going . And last but not least I wanna know when we ( us gov) is gonna admit that the "iraq government " is a shame , until I hear otherwise I'm going with " were gettin the f out & thats that" obama
Hondo 04-24-2008, 07:30 AM Eddie...here's what happens if we just up and leave Obama style.
The entire country falls into complete chaos which does the following:
a) Gives the terrorists a perfect base of operations even better than the one they had in Afghanistan
b) directly threatens access to not only Iraq's oil supply but also completely destabilizes the entire Persian Gulf and puts that nutcase in Iran in the driver's seat.
You think energy prices are bad now you ain't see nothing yet.
Had Bush followed McCain's plan when McCain first suggested it with the surge we'd already be a lot closer to the end of the road. The war was pooply managed from the get-go and only now is improving. There are WAY too many national security issues at stake in that part of the world to just up and run away. If we do that we're going to eventually have to go back and it'll be a lot uglier than the alternative of making this work now.
Can we bring democracy to those people? Beats me. But we absolutely, positively MUST maintain stability that favors our interests in that part of the world at long as we are dependant on oil. And like it or not that's not going to change any time soon. The only way to do that is to maintain a significant military presence there to keep the rest of them from getting froggy. It's chess man. Always has been.
justeric1agn 04-24-2008, 07:44 AM we already made a mess. there is no easy way to clean it up. but to quit and just say f*** it like we did in vietnam after we already jumped in and did this would make even a bigger mess. I don't think anyone has all the answers. its a trick question.

Back to Basra: Challenging the Blunderbusses
By Austin Bay
Wednesday, April 23, 2008
Remember the Iraqi government's Basra offensive, launched a month ago and quickly declared a failure by an overwhelming majority of the talk show and editorial commentators? "Basra Blunder" was the headline of a column that received wide distribution; the column described Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki as an inept, impulsive figure "in way over his head."
Today, Maliki and Iraqis in general have earned the right to sneer at such instant and shallow media negativism, for Knights Charge (code name for the anti-Shia gang offensive in Basra and southern Iraq) is proving to be an extraordinarily significant political and military operation with rather heady long-term payoffs.
That's key -- understanding Knights Charge is an integrated political-military operation. Maliki made it clear that this multidimensional operation was planned and executed by the Iraqis themselves and that the United States was not consulted. For this, his insta-critics chastised him. But Maliki knows his enemies, particularly Mahdi Army chieftain Moqtada al-Sadr.
Sadr would tout U.S. "prior approval" as proof Maliki is "a puppet." Instead, a democratically elected prime minister who happens to be a Shia ordered his nation's troops to strike a Shia gangster. The Iraqi government took the initiative -- now it stands to reap several impressive political benefits.
Even attempting Knights Charge signals increasing Iraqi confidence in their own capacities. Confidence does not ensure competence -- cockiness can get you killed -- but experienced military trainers and teachers know achieving trainee or student competence requires building confidence.
Knights Charge, however, was much more than a confidence-building measure; it may be the most decisive example of a country-building measure we have seen since Saddam fell in April 2003.
Knights Charge involved 15,000 soldiers deployed in six Iraqi Army combat brigades and one police brigade, or roughly two divisions of troops. I have helped plan division-sized mobile operations. Basra and Baghdad are complex urban terrain; moreover, they are politically complex, which amplifies risks. Planning the movement of seven brigades is itself a sophisticated task; executing the plan requires a sophistication that only comes from experience.
Knights Charge put boots and wheels and tracks on roads and into combat. Units coordinated supporting fires and maneuvered in close combat. Sometimes they failed. They needed U.S. and British artillery and air support -- but note they called for it. Here's the battle's bottom line: The various Shia gangs performed much worse. On April 20, The New York Times ran a story that said the Iraqi Army had taken the last Mahdi Army-controlled neighborhood in Basra.
The offensive put several serious Iraqi military problems on display -- tough, immediate medicine -- but what matters is how the leadership corrects them. Desert Storm demonstrated that some soldiers in some Iraqi units are unreliable. In 1991 and 2003, American forces exploited this moral flaw. During the early stages of Knights Charge, a disgusting percentage of Iraqi soldiers fled combat. The Iraqis have since sacked and publicly shamed 1,300 soldiers, which says Iraq's current leaders intend to fix the flaws.
When Knights Charge began, I wrote that the Maliki government knows first and foremost it is waging a political war. Long ago, it decided to isolate and "suffocate" Sadr. In the wake of Knights Charge, Sadr is being publicly mocked.
Fierce Iraq Kurd and Sunni Arab political support for Knights Charge has strengthened Maliki's government -- that's nation-building by the Iraqis themselves. I believe this was the Iraqi government's key strategic domestic objective. In over their heads or a heady move?
Knights Charge demonstrates the Iraqi democratic government's expanding reach and increasing effectiveness. Iran's mullah dictatorship will always try to destabilize Iraq, that's a given. But now Tehran says publicly it supports the Iraqi government's counterinsurgent efforts. Why? Fair bet the smart mullahs have noticed the political success of Knights Charge as well as the Iraqi military's improving counterinsurgency capabilities. Unfortunately, the Basra blunderbusses in the American media haven't.

Lone Cloud 04-24-2008, 12:16 PM Yeah! and if we just let the Bush tax cuts work because you know the economy is booming because of them. Well maybe not booming, but growing. Well maybe not growing but holding steady. Well maybe not holding steady - just forget it then.
And we had to go into Iraq because the president said so and because he had better information than we did. No wait. He had awful information but he didn't know it was awful until 2004, and we've only been getting our guys killed for four unnecessary years.
And the tax rebates are so cool, coming in the spring like they do. No wait. Isn't that the time of year EVERY YEAR when gasoline prices skyrocket? Still, it's our money and we can choose to walk 35 miles to work - - -
Oh yeah. I like those wiretaps. We need those wiretaps. We are so much safer with those wiretaps - -- No proud American would complain about wiretaps without warrants.

ootester 04-24-2008, 12:48 PM Lone Cloud U have your opinoin like every one else, and that is all well and good but, Let's say Al Gore was the man in charge, or even John Kerry do u really think that they would have been proactive and went after the terriorists from 911 the way Bush did. And You say he is getting our guy's killed unnecessary if he did not do what he did and invade iraq when he did we would no doubt be facing them here at home and my have to yet but at least he has the balls to fight. Clinton had numerous chances to go after bin laden and did not if he had this may not have happened. As for the oil there is plenty in the alaska region i believe correct me if i am wrong, and is it not the conversationist's that r saying it will destroy the habbitat up there for the elk moose bear what ever else is up there, and i think they found some huge deposits off the shores of florida and cant drill. All i can say is wake up if we have to rely on foreign oil for much longer it wont matter if we kill a few bear or fish. The one's fighting to stop it let them take a long look at the prices of food along with the gas prices it all go's full circle and comes back to who has the balls lead. Dont flame just my opinon
justeric1agn 04-24-2008, 12:54 PM but george got the guy that tried to shoot his daddy.
the price of gas is up.
we didn't find wepons of mas destruction. this is either because there is nor was none. they are burried in the sand or were taken across the border and are now in the hands of terrorist.

now i'm not a GW Bush fan ,but what he started has to be finished or some other country will finish it for us ,not to our favor
it's very easy to blame what's going on with the U.S. economy on just one person
BUT
did GW Bush move all our jobs to China ? NO
who is buying all the Made in China junk ? We are ,well i try not to buy Made in China junk
who puts up with the health care system ? We do
who puts up with all the other complaints people have about the U.S.A ? We do
This is a country founded by "WE THE PEOPLE".
and until "WE THE PEOPLE" get off our lazy A$$s nothing is going to change
I bet you a tank of gas that if people started to protest the gas prices, you will see it lowered
also Mikey Moore is a fat slob but i like the fact that he is tell us his point of view
LILMAFIA 04-24-2008, 01:04 PM interesting Dubya had the ball to fight eh? Why did he duck out of service then? Its one thing to send someone Else's kid to die and another to actually go yourself. I really do not think anyone could have f--ked up the war in Iraq anymore than Dubya did (hell a friggin monkey with a lobotomy could have prolly done better) say what you will about John Kerry but at least he was there in Nam and served
Now to say we would be fighting them here if we had not gone into Iraq is asinine, I was there during the first Gulf War and we could have easily taken Saddam out then but you know what we didn't why because Dubya I had the foresight to know that we would be considered invaders among st the Arabs and it would turn into a quagmire (funny huh?) the simple fact is this we dropped the ball in Afghanistan and f--ked up in Iraq any good soldier knows you don't bring a knife to a gun battle being that Dubya isn't one (or was one) guess what he bought neither he showed up with balloons and fireworks (shocked and left in awe) we still are :barf:
Rowsdower 04-24-2008, 02:05 PM interesting Dubya had the ball to fight eh? Why did he duck out of service then? Its one thing to send someone Else's kid to die and another to actually go yourself.
Because the Bush administration is filled with chickenhawks. A bunch of people who think war is just dandy when others are fighting, but ducked out when they had the chance to fight themselves.

justeric1agn 04-24-2008, 03:44 PM until then we'll have to deal with gearge bush.
eddiemiller 04-24-2008, 04:40 PM Eddie...here's what happens if we just up and leave Obama style.
Always has been.
look as it stands right now if obama were to win we would not just up and leave by the end of 2009 there would still be over 120,000 , thats 2 years away , how many more f'n years do you want ? Some seem to think obama or hillary would leave immediatley , which is not True they would pull like 1 to 2 brigades out a month , meaning were still gonna be in that hell whole well until the end of 2010 , if that is not enuff time I don't know what is , Meanwhile you got saudi arabia ( the real 9/11 killers) arming sunnis to the gills in Iraq , then you got Al-sadar (shiite)( the next president of Iraq , and yes he seems way worse than sadam ) with his army of 100,000 troops (also armed to the teeth) just waiting to kill each other , the only thing thats half way working in Iraq is the Fact that were paying them off ( yep thats right ones who were killing our soldier are now being payed in cash) , Another fact were gonna have to talk to Iran , as they now run that region ( thanx to us we broke the shiite's free (what iranians are) , there is no such thing as victory in Iraq , pull the troops out ( again were talking 2 years or more) and let allah sort em out ( the sunni vs shitte war) fuk those camel fukers !
justeric1agn 04-24-2008, 05:29 PM but who am i I have ehard well if we didn't put up with it. well guess what we have. we have no choice. this war is going nowhere and there is no way out. we pay 3.50 and it will be four soon. double than before we got into this.
If we were going in to take over or do something to help america like take the damn oilfields or get it so we could afford oil. sure let it rip potato chip. lets go get some dune coons.
but to send our own people to die so that everyone else in our country can suffer so opec can get rich.
I'm sorry but I have no patriotizm anymore.
and before i get attcked for this my father was wwII flew in the navy was navel intelegence and he lost his along time ago. was decorated with all the buttons and bows and got the only jap sub during wwII with a navel aircraft. he said he never was sure weather it was a sub or he blew up a whale.lol
they need to do something besides just sit there as targets for these crazy people that have no respect for human lives including there own.

What???? Went after the terrorists from 911??? When? Dubya sent far less soldiers to Afganistan in search of Bin Laden than he did going into Iraq. And just who is still at large???? The main terrorist who actually successfully planned and carried out an attack, that's who. Went after him? Yeah....right.....

No we would have went to Saudi arbia & destroyed them ( where 15 of 19 highjackers were from), then off to Afghanistan , but instead el dhipshit decides that we need to Invade Iraq
( which had Absolutely NOTHING TO DO WITH 9/11) which was and always will be a mistake:grr: Now we got a huger problem in Pakisatan , but were fighting them over there , so we don't have to fight them here ( possibly the dumbest statement in History , cause it's not like they can by a plane ticket , sneak in thru the border or one of 1,000 other ways to create chaos:rolleyes: ) this war in Iraq will be the downfall for the republicans & Mccain this fall , how you call 2 + years of another 120,000 troops "cut & running " is beyond me , and also when/if another terrorist attack happens on us soil & we don't have the resources to fight back because of this GD war in Iraq , You guys will be the ones thinking , hey wait maybe we shouldn't have been in Iraq . but I got a simple way to end this all , lets let the Military & there families vote , if they say leave Iraq , then we do ( which they will , just look why they support Obama because they want out) , and they know there is Nothing to gain in Iraq , besides let all them dam private contractors handle the mess , they seem to like it , so let them take over , quit Destroying the US Military

This came from hard work, dedication and sometimes some dumb luck. Price of fuel is high, but why bitch. My fuel bill this month alone will almost top the 100K mark. I plan on that, and my busy season hasn't even started yet.

Last year, both papa63 and Weblady have visited me at some of my projects. That's how these 2 can say for sure that I am what I say. I'm not depending on my government, my next door neighbor, or my parents to give me anything. I have spent the better part of 30 years making it what it is. This came from hard work, dedication and sometimes some dumb luck. Price of fuel is high, but why bitch. My fuel bill this month alone will almost top the 100K mark. I plan on that, and my busy season hasn't even started yet.
So have you seen bush lately. lol:p :p

magic0 04-25-2008, 11:12 PM Tax bracket? Whats that? By the time everybody gets paid, I'm no different ahan anyone else. I work for a living. I just got ALOT more and BIGGER bills, but I make it, and did it my way.

Hondo & Chuck, you guys are in the wrong line of work. Your level-headed comments brought serenity to one of the two deadliest topics that could ever be open for discussion - Politics and Religion. All twelve pages of discussion were done in a mature, respectful manner, i.e. NO ONE making personal or derogatory remarks about someone who posted an opinion that was contrary to what was being discussed.
Was the thread "hi-jacked"? That would seem to be relative to what was being discussed in any particular section of the thread. It started off I think, being about Michael Moore and digressed in to oil, the Iraqi War being worse than Viet-Nam (I disagree, but you had to be there to understand):wow: , patriotism concerning one political party over another, yet, it was done maturely.
Congratulations EVERYONE!!!
Back to lurk mode,
