That is a normal price....those are the stamped not forged receivers, and usually made from parts kits. Some are not parts kits and are a little better quality.
Dealer cost on those is less than 260.00 so the dealers are making a 100 a rifle
And a lot of those the way the receivers are made you cant put a folding stock on them or pistol grip which many people prefer.
A preban will run you over 700.00 and a post ban that allows the folding stock and pistol grip to be added will run you in the high 400's

But still not bad to have one around with Quite a few clips.

When it comes to the Ak's the russian made models are the best, as with the sks. Most are chinese clones, or another clone.
Last I knew the ban on the 10 round clips and import has expired, so if you want some of those banned items, buy while you can. Instead of the weapons ban that infringes on the second amendment they are attacking the availibility and price of ammo instead, a political work around, the second amendment doesn't say anything about ammo, they had black powder.
Where did romaina get the tooling and stamping equipment from? Russia maybe? I don't think they made it all, I also don't think they threw it away when they re-tooled for auto's, It will spring up and start being used somewhere? Like south america (can you say drug Lord)? Unless the USA was smart enough to buy it all, but I doubt it, the politicians bitch and cry but they just want money.

The Drag is an EXCELLNT gun especially for sniper/long range shooting
You can still find them for under 700.00 a piece and they are worth every cent. The 7.62x54R round (R for rimmed) is a great long range round, longer range and power than the 308. And the Chinese AK's are actually not too bad if you cant find a Russion or Romanian. The Chinese are experts at copying and reverse engineering things.
But if you are going to pay 600 + for a pre ban AK, Dont but they Drag you will love it.

Definately go with the Russian version of the AK or the Egyptian model is better made than the Chinese version on the SKS go with the Yugo 150 bones is about average drop in in a bullpup conversion kit with a tri rail and badda bing :yes:
