There has been talk about the neusat being a captain 8000 it must be true or visa versa. I took two of the files and went on the hunt. Finaly got it to work, here is how. Get yourself bin #10 neusat file. Dowload newest captain 8000 file called Captain8000HD_V637_040908. You will need a good bin editor I used HHD Free Hex Editor 3.0. Open the neusat bin 10 and copy the first four lines they will read like this

00000000:02 da 02 da c2 50 00 00 11 23 00 00 01 00 00 00 ..P...#......
00000010:06 00 0d 00 4f 63 74 20 32 39 20 32 30 30 37 00 ....Oct 29 2007
00000020:00 00 02 40 ee fa 16 00 00 00 00 00 09 28 9d 0b ...@.......(.
00000030:00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 c5 08 00 00 ...............
00000040:1f 8b 08 08 73 cf 25 47 02 0b 61 70 70 2e 62 69 ...s%G..app.b

Then open a copy of the captain file and paste these lines onto it replacing the lines on the captain file. Apply it to usb stick and load. It will know something is fishy with the file but will give you the option to forse load, do it. When it reboots do a system reset from menue. Then load untouched Captain file onto usb stick and it loads smooth. When it reboots it will say Hi Captain . Rescan your channels and wait to roll, mine rolled before it was even done scanning channels. Works great. Enjoy guys.

All very good info.....I don't have one of these to test so I will ask a question for those that do.Have you any issues with the remote control..ie...will the now converted box work with the NeusatHD remote control or will the user have to use a programmable remote and use the CaptainHD codes to maintain remote functionality?Just thought I would ask before everyone jumped up and converted their boxes and end up with no remote that will work with the newly converted box.

Just got feedback from a user...Neusat remote will continue to work as usual.
