I have just ordered a new coolsat 8100. I hope i made the right decision because i started reading how to program it after the order. I have a few questions now. I have been using a 5000, i bought the 8100 because the 5000 was so easy to program so i figured the 8100 would be easy too, plus i wanted HD channels and fast fixes. My first question is: Does the 8100 get HD channels on 110 and 119? I've read that it does not. Second : I've also read that you need to use the loader with the null cable to get the latest fixes to work instead of the USB jump drive it comes with, is that true? It sounds like the USB is much easier. If you do have to use a loader, do you have to use the CSUpgrade_v3.01 loader, because i'm having problems getting it to work with Vista? I've read about the .ocx files that you need in system32 i had comctl32.ocx and comdlg32.ocx in there already, but not mscomm32.ocx. I added mscomm32.ocx and it still does not work. I feel like a total newbi again and i wanted to get this up and running as soon as i get it on 4/9/08. Thanks in advance for any help.

when f2atv.com was up, you could load csu_upgrade v3.1 loader "complete" and no probs with ocx files. but alas they are out of action for a while.
check your port setting. when you fire up the loader you should have a com port numer to the bottom left of the frame.
