I bought a Captiveworks 700S yesterday. I read the 17 item instructions from one of this sites help reference. It seems that "right out of the box" all I have to do is download the latest bin onto the USB stick. Upload to box, answer some prompts, do factory default, enter settings, enable patch.
I realize that I made it sound simple; but - but - but -Is there anything else I have to download, or is it all included in the new bin? Where do I get the patch, and is there a separate loader, and is there special initial inst software?
I need a confidence builder - please help.

Yes, i agree, this would be very helpful to the readers and me, I just purchased the cw700 and am trying to get all the info i need to set up right the first time as well.
I just got the basic service from D i s h net and want to TEST my 2nd tv with the CW700 by splitting the cable.
so any replys will be very helpful

just bought a cw700 also and having problems getting it going. Loaded new 160 bin on the usb stick. Scanned for channels, but for some reason every channel is scrammbled. Maybe there is something else that needs to be loaded? Or maybe I'm just missing a step in there somewhere. Thanks.

OK after further reading i see that after I load the bin file Via the USB drive then reboot when prompted.
and after reboot enable the patch by doing the following.

.Press F1 on remote followed by 000. then wait a few seconds for keys to roll.and :wow: sit back and enjoy:beer:

To Ranger Andy & others who have a new 700 box, who still have scrambled stations.
The box "right now for the past week anyway, is auto rolling every time I turn the box on. That is O.K., sort of better than having to load the keys manual style. The auto roll function takes approx 3 to 5 minutes of thinking. Then everything works fine till the next time I turn it on. No big deal really.
