Hi my receiver is dp301.010 I am trying to save my 2 tsop and my eprom I was able to save the first one in 3 minute but the second one and my eprom takes about half and hour and nothing happened im using a desktop 1000mhz with windows xp and jkeys 2.0
I did get my receiver to work by using the quick fix for dp301 erasing the start address 1FE000000 and is working fine but I want to save everything just in case my question is now the my receiver is working should I try to save everything before it gets hit again or it would not matter can some one please lead me in the right direction why this is happening

Thanks in advanced
Your help would be greatly appreciated

I have been having the same trouble on a 3900. The problem appears to be that the printer port voltage is too low on many laptops. I am assuming you are using the printer port for your Jtag. On a tower computer the voltage is about 5.0 volts or a little higher and it works fine for me. On many laptops the voltage is 4.5-4.75 which is a little low for reliability. My laptop voltage is 4.53 which is quite low and i cannot use the printer port for AVR programming either. I am in the market for a new laptop but I will have to measure the voltage before purchasing anything. This was my problem but not necessarily yours. You can verify if this is your problem by using a regular computer and see if it saves your files OK.

many of the brand name computers have a low voltage on the printer port. i have solved the problem by installing a seperate printer port on the bus and disabling the mother board port or setting it to lpt2. of the six different brand name computers i have i house we can only use an HP laptop with the motherboard port. any of the computers will work with a seperate printer port card installed.

That good info. Can a separate port be added to a laptop?

youre lacking contac between printer port and j-tag i have used several different j-tags and pc's from 2.2 g to 350 meg, they all work, now some do fail, but still its in the contection.. to reciever.. try unplugging the ird and restarting pc, this normally works..

I had same proplems, but here is my solution. It is impossible to hold even pressure on the jtag for 7 minutes to extract both flashes and the eeprom. My jtag had a space to the case. I found some insulating material to fill the space. Then I went to the local Big Lots and got a pair of locking vice grips with the long ams. I put a mag on the top of the receiver, and a small piece on plywood on top of the jtag, and locked the vice grips. I laid the receiver in a chair, hooked up the jtag, opened the software, and never had a problem. I suspect that any movement upsets the electrical connection, and have something hold it constant solves the problem. I have not had to write yet, but I never was able to read with ease before. Hope this helps. It was woth the time and $6 for the vice grips.
