I probably should know this but I don't. Some sites out there in cyberspace post a whole bunch of different keys for a whole bunch of different encryption methods - like the ones named above.

Then you look through the code menu of an FTA receiver and you see a lot of those keys listed there.

If a person was prone to receiving certain signals (not me. My interest is academic) could he grab the keys from one of those sites, enter them and then get the stations? Would a "key grabber" get all of those keys and then input them into an FTA receiver?

It can't be that simple. Anyone know?

I don't recall any key grabber program will grab these Seca, Viaccess, Irdeto. You can manually enter them, but don't think it will work either.

I looked into it further. There are some European sites that discuss fta receivers and Irdeto. The sites are not many and there isn't any clear conclusion I can come to. All I can say is, the people posting there seemed to believe they could get stations.

After I consider the legalities of research into this area, I'll consider whether I will input keys manually.
