Hello everyone,

This is my understanding of the required hard drive for the CW800s.

It must have:

-usb compatible
-less than 400 GB
-formatted in FAT32
-have it's own power supply

Is there anything else I should know before going out to purchase a hard drive?

Will an external hard drive work? Or must it be a hard drive in an enclosure?

Is an enclosure just a way of making a stock hard drive "external"? If so what are the advantages?

An external hard drive would be much easier since I don't have any experience tinkering with hardware.

If anyone has any comments it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Ive heard people using hardrives 500g and over as long as they have their own power source and are quality high speed. I am using a maxtor 250g 7200rpm harddrive formated in fat32 by using swissknife and it is working great. An external hardrive has its own enclosure and will be located outside the unit. Hope this helps
