Thanks. alexfoo_nasa@yahoo.com Use the CS 7000 Loader. You can also unzip the file, down load to a memory stick then upload the file to your reciever without the loader buy USB port on the reciever.Goto your menu, utilies,ok,data transfer,ok plug in memory stick, menu will highlite, curser to data transfer by usb, push red button on remote and download starts and is done in few seconds, that it,exit. Thank you a lot for your advice! TheShadowFL 05-27-2008, 09:21 AM It really threw me, that I cannot download a specific CS6100 loader. When I've tried, I get a Zero Length File. Go figure. <_< But hey, (as advertised) the CS7000 loader works just fine. Yes the file extension has changed from the familiar .stb with the CS6000 to .ird for the CS6100. (who's bright idea was that?) I've not tried the USB method yet,,,, actually that's a lot more complicated than just using the Serial cable which I already had permanently installed on my CS6k and now serves the CS6100 equally well. The only difference I've seen in the process with the 6100, is that you have to press the RED button on the remote to put the box in standby, before the upload will proceed. That was NOT required with the CS6000. An on-screen prompt in the loader tells you to "Reset the Set Top Box". That's somewhat misleading, but just means to press the red button on the remote and put the receiver in Standby (OFF) mode. Once you get that little detail down pat, the rest is a piece of cake. Somewhere there is a specific loader for the CS6100, and I'm still searching for it. Cheers Mates! The Shadow  kenmoresp 05-29-2008, 04:20 AM I have not found a 6100 specific loader either. Everywhere has the 6100/7000 combo deal. I have looked everywhere I can think of. Luckily, I have not needed one. As for the USB method being complicated, I could not disagree more. With mine (a 6100), all I do is insert he USB stick and it automatically goes to the screen to load the file. I just select the file I want to load. Then press the red button, in a few seconds it reboots and all is good. ianleafan 05-29-2008, 04:49 AM It really threw me, that I cannot download a specific CS6100 loader. Once youu have the zip file on your pc, it is only maybe 4 or 5 clicks and you are done. You will be flashing your box before you even have the cable plugged in in (the other method) Read some and if you can't get it, I'll check this thread later and help you. Good luck butcher1 05-29-2008, 04:50 AM Under installation - options turn Auto ch/tp update off. This is what adds the channels back. Delete Channel -exit menu -turn off box from back. back on. all deleted. Also once you have just the channels you want, goto Utilites - Data transfer, Save channels to usb. this creates a FDU file. next time you use B105 ,B112 you can plug these back in. You can access these by putting the USB in when the bin is loaded and the system reboots. push right arrow key and load your fdu.. much quicker than re-scanning all the time. bluemaxmkh 06-02-2008, 07:14 AM Under installation - options turn Auto ch/tp update off. Thanks but had it figured out and didn't use Autoch/tp update. sylvia13 06-02-2008, 07:19 AM myself i have usb stick and no problems transfering from p.c. to receiver, scan zipped file once downloaded, then copy it to usb stick then to receiver works great especially when the bin is new |
